Can we trade down to get Curry?
If we decide on picking Curry, we could maybe do what we did last year with Love and get some expirings to go with our pick. If he's there at 6 couldn't we trade with the team with the 7th pick? Curry seems more and more like he should be the pick, especially after the results of the combine, where all the guys who were supposed to be so much more athletic than Curry weren't.

Re: Can we trade down to get Curry?
How about you give the Knicks Brian Cardinal and Mike Miller and the Knicks will send the 8th pick, Eddy Curry, and Jared Jeffries?

Re: Can we trade down to get Curry?
Lol, you guys already tried that in another thread, you sure are persistent.
The answer is no BTW. Thats a horrible deal. You dont trade expirings for 2 horrible contracts just to pick up the #8 pick in a $h!++y draft.

Re: Can we trade down to get Curry?
I'd take several players ahead of Curry. Unless we're trading up, I'd rather they take Harden, Holiday or Evans at 6 and move on.

OJ Mayo is one of the best defenders in the league, hes a two way player and hes a great passer and playmaker.

Re: Can we trade down to get Curry?
Ya that's a horrible deal ctorres. The team who drafts Curry would have to see a significant reason to like the player we draft over Curry. Really, I don't see that much difference value wise between Evans, Holiday, etc. and Curry. If we draft Harden on the other hand they might agree to make a deal. Trouble is I'd rather keep Harden. Maybe we could sweeten a team up by offering the 28 pick idk.

Curry is likely the most skilled/polished guard in the draft when you look at the offensive side of things. Defensively, he will struggle one-on-one, but so do most other players in the NBA.
He has been a SG in college, but has the skills to be a quality combo-guard in the NBA.

Flip response to Love wanting out, "He has no reason to be upset, you're either a part of the problem or a part of the solution"

Re: Can we trade down to get Curry?
NY would trade you JJ+8th for your 2 1sts, and a 2nd (plus filler--likely Miller---from your side to match salaries). The Salary you take on is only $7 Million for 2010, and he'd be a great Defensive backup for Love and Al. Then you guys would have the 6th and 8th Picks, where you could get Harden and a PG of your choice (like Curry).

Re: Can we trade down to get Curry?
If the filler was Cardinal and Madsen, I'd consider it.
I'd prefer Holiday or Evans and DeRozan to Harden and Curry, though. Harden and Holiday would be nice as well, but I doubt possible.

I'd be open. But the base I suggested is def. doable for both Teams, no?

Re: Can we trade down to get Curry?
Jeffries and #8
for
#18, #28, Cardinal, and Madsen
Players wise it's saving $3.1mil in 2009 and paying $6.9 in 2010 to move up to the #8 spot.
As bad as Jeffries is, I think I'd need more.

Who would you want to trade to get expirings? We dont have any bad contracts anymore.

We could trade Al Jefferson for some expirings. It makes sense, I promise.

Re: Can we trade down to get Curry?
Larry Brown might have something to offer the Timberwolves, He seems to have a crush. He is also a very good developmental coach (especially guards) and also a defensive mind...If we forgot all the other facts relating to Curry's defensive ineptitude, Brown alone should dispel it. Side Note....Larry has on record spoke of what a great position the Timberwolves are in & his affection for Khan.....I wouls love to see Brown coach the Timberwolves....I think he would know very quickly what's up with the players on this roster and be able to relate it well to the FO, and be able to develop the players on the roster that he likes. How long is Larry's deal in CHA? This would also look alot better for the FA"s...I wont put anything past this new regime.

Re: Can we trade down to get Curry?
I'm thinking that Charlotte is Larry Brown's last coaching job, and he'll likely be there for a little bit.

I think the Knicks will pick Curry at #7 if he's still on the board.

That might piss off the Warriors.

I'd pass on that as well.
I think the #15 or #21 is very attainable, and we could combine either one to move up to #9 without hurting our 2010 cap space.

Thriving on mediocrity since '89.
