I'm not undermining anything, I just think your argument is beyond ridiculous. You really think a 29 year old with injury concerns would be the #1 pick in this draft? Come on man. Get serious. If you think he is so good, then why are you trying to deal him for the #2 pick?

I agree with CDash big time here. Brand will NOT land you the 2nd overall pick and he is NOT better off then all the players in the draft. To think that is beyond crazy. Is this a weak draft? Sure is. Is there a few stars in the draft. Yes there is.

Brand is almost 30 years old. He's been getting hurt and some of those rookies will have awesome, long careers ahead of them. I'd take Griffin ahead of Brand any time of the week. The best thing i love about passionate biased sports fans is what CDash asked you in his last line, if Brand is so valuable, then WHY IN THE WORLD would you try to get rid of him?

Agreed.

Just wow.

Josh McRoberts is better than anyone to come out of this draft - lets trade him for a draft pick!

If age and injuries werent an issue Tinsley would be one of the best pg on the trading block this summer. your losing andre, that means you should be able to overlook tinsleys injuries and age and trade us your pick.

How can injuries hold out a player for the entire season, the fact is is that you're tired of Tinsley and that he's sat out for a whole year or basketball ALA Stephon Marbury. I'm not giving you a pick for that.

Brand is a solid 29, with injuries that do NOT corrolate with each other. And thing is:Everyone that knows basketball, says the same exact thing!

From PP, to Jordan, to Stefanski everyone's acknowledged that Brand is the same player he as in LAC. A 20/10/2 guy.

And I sware on the soul of the Devil that Griffin will not be able to make that defensive impact. Thabett is not the complete player Brand is and may never be.

Only Ricky Rubio as a prospect has more potential then Brand, but he won't come to Memphis.

The deal for both Memphis and Philly is excellent. The deal's good for you too(Plus, I did edit giving you the pick). Giving you Lou Will, Speights and the pick.

I'm sorry this draft class IS weak. It's weaker then '04. We haven't had a draft like this since Kwame Brown went 1st overall.

I think that saying Jamaal Tinsley doesn't have the impact potential but Elton Brand does is somewhat contradictory.

The deal is fine from the Pacers end, its a no brainer for us. Theres just no way the Grizzles do it. I don't care what you think Brand could be - he doesn't have the value of what he could be. He has the value of what he has done the last two years, mixed with his giant contract. No team is going to trade a top pick for a guy with a monster contract and injury problems.

We get it, you love Brand - so keep him.

Brand makes $15 million. He deserves half that. And he barely ever plays, so less than that. That'll be great paying him 18+million in 4 years. Nobody wants to pay Brand his contract for the next 5 years. He is overpaid and has negative value. Getting the #2 pick is a joke.

And the 76ers sucked when Brand was in the lineup. It was only after he got injured that the Sixers started playing well.

Rubio is not the only player with more value in this draft then Brand. Many players could potentially have much greater impact, including guys who are expected to go around 10-15.... such as a Jrue Holiday, Gerald Henderson, James Johnson or Terrance Williams. Will they all become stars? No. Will all top 5 picks become stars? No. But, many of these players will. Like the 2001 draft you pointed out to, it was a weak draft, but there were many stars in that draft.... Jason Richardson, Pau Gasol, Richard Jefferson, Tony Parker, Joe Johnson and Gilbert Arenas. Overall it was a weak draft, but there were stars in the draft. Same as this draft. What makes a draft weak is theres many players who are a hit or a miss with no inbetween. DeMar DeRozen was once touted as the next Kobe Bryant. Could he still become nearly as good? Yes he can.

For you to think Brand, a guy almost 30 years old with injury problems, is more valuable then many of these prospects, then you're just crazy. Like, really crazy. Your value of Brand is way too high.

And if you don't think this draft will have multiple stars, then you're even crazier then i originally thought.

All the players in the draft have more value b/c Brand has negative value b/c of his contract. Only 5 players might be better, but if a player is 75% as good and makes 10% of what he makes then that player has more value.
