D12: I Want To See Bynum Do Well

Dwight Howard feels like he has a special connection to Andrew Bynum, and he wants to see his Finals opponent do well.

Howard and Bynum, true centers, are a dying breed in today's NBA.

"Of course," Howard said of wanting Bynum to play well. "I've been watching Andrew since high school, and he's come a long way with his weight.

"I first saw him in the All-Star Game and he was wider, but he's slimmed down, gotten into better shape. ... I think we have a lot of respect for each other, knowing we're like dinosaurs in the NBA. There's not a lot of us."

Howard told the Daily News that he is even willing to work with Bynum on getting stronger this summer.

"He wants to get a little toned up, and I've got some workout regimens for him," Howard said.

Great stuff. That's how Centers should treat other Cs, regardless of status in the League. Imagine Bynum with his length and Howard's build. Sicknasty!

Dwight is a classy guy. I have tons of respect towards him. Sad that we have to crush him in these finals because it's our time.

Dwight has always been a good guy. Just a few more moves and better body control and he'll be pretty unstoppable.

I saw the press conference where Howard said that on NBA TV. it is hard to dislike the magic and Howard so it is unfortunate that we have to beat them.

I just hope Shaq learns a thing or two from Dwight.

yeah, it's good to here that from another center especially from the opposing team vying for that ring.

Bynum seems to look afraid to take a couple more steps to reach the basket... I notice him getting the ball, and already planting for the shot. Thank goodness his freethrows are good. Maybe they can trade off. Free throw lessons for workout tips LOL.

I so much more like to see players spread the love like this than bicker through the media, but in a finals matchup you're behind on I'm not sure it's the best time to do so.

I love Dwight but this attitude is going to cost him the dunk contest and a championship in 2009.

If Bynum had Howard's body he'd be unstoppable. He should definitely work out with him this summer if he knows what's good for him.

that'll be great for Bynum, Howard is arguably the best center in the league. If he works out with Bynum and teaches him some stuff, wow, bynum better listen.

Good stuff, Dwight is classy unlike Shaq. Shaq criticizes young centers.
