Marcus Thornton $800,000
2011 ORL 1st
2010 ORL 2nd

for

Ty Lawson $1, 859160

We are very excited, Lawson gives our team youth and he will be part of our team for years to come. Calderon and Miller now very available.

Trade NOT approved since it doesn't match up salary-wise. Thorton acutally makes 989,040 x 1.25 = 1,236,300<1,859,160 (so it does not work)

Trade approved with bobby jackson added

The Indiana Pacers and Charlotte Bobcats have agreed upon a trade.

Indiana sends Shaquille O'neal ($21,000,000) and Rodney Stuckey ($1,805,040) for Cuttino Mobley ($9,500,000), T.J. Ford ($8,500,000), and Paul Millsap (10,000,000).

We understand Millsap is a BYC, and here is how the math breaks down:

CHARLOTTE'S SIDE

Code: Select all

CHA Outgoing
Paul Millsap $5,000,000
Cuttino Mobley $9,500,000
T.J. Ford $8,500,000

Total: 23,000,000

CHA Incoming
Shaquille O'neal - $21,000,000
Rodney Stuckey - $1,805,040

Total: 22,805,040

INDIANA'S SIDE

Code: Select all

IND Outgoing
22,805,040 X 1.25 = 28,506,300

IND Incoming
Cuttino Mobley $9,500,000
T.J. Ford $8,500,000
Paul Millsap 10,000,000
= 28,000,000

Indiana accepts, we hate to lose Shaq, who still to this day is no worse than third best C in the league, but unfortunately with Indiana going in a youth movement, he did not fit our plans. We also lose a valuable piece of our core in Rodney Stuckey who we wish nothing but the best, but acquiring a player of Millsap's caliber in the frontcourt fills one of our biggest needs in another young running mate next to Amar'e. We feel Millsap's ruggedness and rebounding would be a great fit next to Amar'e who would move back to the C position, a position in which he was All-NBA First team just two seasons ago.

The Bobcats accept this deal.

Losing Milsap is a huge blow to our team but we're confident we can find a suitable replacement in the near future.

While Shaq is going to be a huge help to our frontline, we're more so excited about the addition of Stuckey. At 14 PPG and 5 APG , he should solidify our backcourt rotation.

The Mavericks and Hornets have agreed on a deal

Dallas trades:
Tayshaun Prince
Kris Humphries
2010 2nd

New Orleans trades:
Lamar Odom
Jerome James

The Mavericks consider Prince and Odom comparable players, however with the team lacking in offense and playmaking and having enough defensive strength elsewhere, we are happy to add a player of Odom's caliber and talent to the fold.

The Hornets Accept. We had been trying to pair Pince with Roy ever since we got him and we love the opportunity to have the two of them on the same squad with West, Love, and Przybilla in front of them.

Just running through a snag for the Hornets deal

2010 second round draft pick to Indiana (Phoenix owns pick in game)

Dallas' own 2010 2nd round pick to Indiana, provided, however, that Dallas shall have the option to defer this pick until 2011 at which time Dallas would then send it's own 2011 2nd round pick to Indiana [Dallas - Indiana, 10/10/2008]

-Dallas elects to defer the 2nd round draft pick until 2011.

We needed to shed Nocioni's salary and we like Murphy's ability to spread the floor for Dwight. We now have the number 1 and 2 rebounders and 3 of the top 4 3 point shooters from this past season as well as enough cap space to make a run at a max FA.

Orlando accepts

Nash/Fisher
Childress/Robinson/Stackhouse
Lebron/Bogans/Stackhouse
David Lee/Bonner
O'neil/Swift/Lee/Mihm

Not great, but Nash + Lebron = playoff team and he is in LA....though I'd tend to agree.
