MN / Charlotte / Chi

Post#1 » by Devilzsidewalk » Sun Jun 7, 2009 12:56 am

MN out: Craig Smith, Brian Cardinal, Mike Miller, #28, #47
MN in: Gerald Wallace, Kirk Hinrich

Char out: Gerald Wallace, Boris Diaw
Char in: Mike Miller, Brian Cardinal, Craig Smith, #47

Chi out: Kirk Hinrich
Chi in: Boris Diaw, #28

why and how and whence:

MN: huge defensive upgrade for taking on salary in tough times. Tough tough times.

Charlotte: owner wants to sell, gets out of 2 of the team's bigger contracts while saving some face getting Miller/Smith in return. Tells Larry Brown he's paid to coach what's out there, secretly hopes Larry quits to save some scrilla.

Chi: listen's to Hinrich's request to trade him to a team he can start at and also fills gaping PF hole, gets a #28 pick of unclear value. Contracts are similar in remaining years and money, but Diaw fills a bigger hole. Salmons/Deng take over starting 2/3 spots as Gordon also walks. Maybe sign Ollie to be another backup.

I don't think that the Bobcats will be looking to deal Boris Diaw.

They would quite likely be open to the idea of moving him to SF so that his rebounding isn't an issue so i'm sure they'll continue to shop Wallace.

Having Boris Diaw really opened up things for them offensively last year as they have been so desperate for a second ball handler they've been reduced to playing Brevin Knight and Jeff McCinnis next to Raymond Felton over the years.

I just don't think they are likely to turn around and create the same exact hole all over again. Granted Mike Miller is also a very good ball handler but he sure isn't Boris Diaw in any other phase of the game.

maybe the #18 pick will change their tune:

MN out: Craig Smith, Brian Cardinal, Mike Miller, #18, #28, #47
MN in: Gerald Wallace, Kirk Hinrich

Char out: Gerald Wallace, Boris Diaw
Char in: Mike Miller, Brian Cardinal, Craig Smith, #18, #47

Chi out: Kirk Hinrich
Chi in: Boris Diaw, #28

MN easily does it. As a bystanding fan of Charlotte's team, I hope they are not this $$ desparate. It's really not a good deal for them, but does free up their payroll after this season. Chicago may be willing to do this.

Chicago is not in need of Boris Diaw. Our main problem is defensive rebounding. So Boris Diaw...hurts that.

Hinrich
Brewer
Wallace
Love
Al

Ya, I could get into that. We would be at least playoff contenders if Al is healthy.
