Wow... I would rather draft Thabeet than have David Lee on this team.

Re: grizzleGM's 2009 offseason
If we are forced to draft Thabeet!
Damn, Damn, Damn
We would have to put a smiley face on the situation and just move on. Free Agency would be even more important as management has just whiffed in the draft.
The goal is still to improve the bench and add a low post scorer.
If we are talking strictly free agents restricted or otherwise, my wish list would be:
Charlie Villanueva 8 mill/yr
The reason being is we have to assume Detroit will get Carlos Boozer, Utah will not be out bid for Milsap, Verajo is more garbage baskets than fluid offense.
C.V. next to Thabeet will not be that bad, and he will more than compensate for the lack of offense on Thabeet's part. We would then have three former UConn players potentially in the lineup.
We will not have as much competition at that pay rate for C.V. as Milwaukee can't match and the other teams with a low post need have already targeted their player.
I don't have a lot of faith in management to have acquired a decent wing player via the draft but a backup 2 is virtually impossible not have acquired with #27 or #35 so I will concentrate on the small forward position.
While Trevor Ariza is the likely target he wants to be a starter and that is not going to happen since we have Rudy Gay, so ditto Ron Artest and Hedo T.
I would make a run at a Jamario Moon for around 4 million a year.
Lineup
Conley, Jaric, Beaubois w/#35
Mayo, Budinger w/#27
Gay, Moon-via FA
Villanueva, Darko, Arthur
Gasol, Thabeet w/#2, Haddadi

No good will come out of a Juice, Rudy and Villanueva trio.
