Re: Cammo's MMA Rankings (5/24/09)
Interesting ranking of Franklin Cammo, what's your basis around it? I do see him moving solidly up in that division, but his re-induction was a razor thin loss to Dan [who you got placed one above him]. That your logic - there was nothing in it except the decision outcome?
I really don't see Dan fighting at LHW again for a good while unless he loses to Bisbing - since Dana suggested that winner would get the shot at the title.
[Not saying I disagree at all either, just wanting to see your thought behind it]

Franklin and Hendo are tough cases. You have to give them some credit for what they did at other weight classes, but you can not go overboard with it. It is just kind of a feel thing. I would love to make the 2 of them stick in a weight class, but they keep jumping around. I would say Hendo is close to sticking at 185 and Franklin at 205.

Re: Cammo's MMA Rankings (5/24/09)
I actually agree with almost everything you posted in that ranking.
Somehow though, I can't help but think that maybe Josh Barnett isn't really as high up there as he's made to be. He is a former heavyweight champion, and he does have several top notch victories under his belt, but all that just seems to be so far away now. Not to take away anything from his last 4 victories, but he hasn't really been tested against a lot of the other current top heavyweights. I would still rank him under Mir and Nog right now. The end result of his fight with Fedor will certainly change my opinion however.

He has been helped by the fact that Fedor keeps beating everyone. One Fedor beats Barnett, he will likely fall back to the 4 or 5 range where he prolly belongs.

Cammo your list is solid, I just have one question? What's your personal reason for having Josh Koscheck so high?

I think he is one lose away from plummeting. I try not to punish guys too bad for losing to elite guys. A lot of guys would lose to Alves and GSP, so it is hard to slam him too bad. Paulo Thiago was a fight he should have won, but I give him some leniency due to it being a crappy stoppage.
I think at 170 there is a pretty big drop off after the first 5 or so, and that has allowed him to hang around the top.

Re: Cammo's MMA Rankings (5/24/09)
I'm glad to see some love for Bones Jones. If he can win a few more, he'll definitely be moving up that list quickly. He gassed quickly in that fight against Bonnar, but apart from that, he's got an amazing skill set. He throws some of the most unorthodox strikes, delivers them from the weirdest angles, and his wrestling base is pretty good as well. If he can work better on his conditioning, he'll definitely be a contender.

He is definitely one of the bright young stars in the UFC.

I'm with you on that, I haven't seen him tested against any legit MMA competition yet.

He doesn't seem to care much about MMA since becoming a celebrity.

Its disappointing as well, given that he's champ, he's making his division sit around and twiddle their thumbs till he decides to defend.
I actually honestly wonder how good he'll be when he gets back, if he's off shooting he wont be in the gym training full out [I am betting he does spend a fair whack of time there though] that ring rust could be a problem maybe?
I think cammo is right to drop him low, while you are only as good as your last fight in MMA, there has to be time considerations on it aswell.
