Exactly. Rondo needs to hear how it really is - not how great he is. We all know he has an ego (like Doc mentioned) and that is something which realllllllllyyyyy needs to be tempered until he can hit a freaking jumpshot.

DOC: "Rondo still has a lot of growth ahead of him. As great as his numbers were, as great as he played at times, guys still fell off him to double team. Guys don't fall off an All-Star to help with someone else. He has to make them pay for that by hitting his shot. Rondo has a chance to be a great player.

This is something Stariblast, Wigglestrue and all the other Rondo fan boys need to read a dozen times.

"But you have to do it every day in the playoffs. The first five games of the Chicago series Rondo played at an All-Star level. But the rest of the playoffs you could make the case that he really struggled. He had good rebounding numbers. He also had some good assist numbers at times. But at the point guard level you have to be able to score and get your assists. When teams play the Boston Celtics the one guy they are going to help off of is Rondo."

I didn't want to admit it when he passed over some guys I had high hopes for but Doc knows what the he** he is doing...

I know the fan boys just read this as Doc trying to "fire up" Rondo. And that may be part of it. But don't be shocked if they don't resign Rondo this year or in fact trade him. I am telling you Doc Rivers and Danny Ainge were BOTH scoring points. (Yes Ainge was kinda "co" PG with DJ). They don't care for can't shoot guys that ruin a teams offense.

I think Doc was pretty much on target with everything. I'm not sure he gave baby enough props for the year he had but his criticism was fair. one thing about baby that makes me crazy is how often he falls down while trying to score. He has to stay on his feet so he can get back on D. Perk got a lot of touches in the post and his O has definitely improved so the good news is that with him and KG back our inside game will be better. we're still going to miss Leon though so we definitely need another big man. Again I love Pachulia but McDyess, Milsapp would be nice additions. then add a shooter like Von Wafer. What about JOsh Childress?

Not only does Doc want to keep Rondo's ego in check, but I think his criticisms are a sign of his wanting Danny to be able to get an extension done this summer. Rajon may be a pain in the butt for Doc sometimes, but having him sewn up in a new contract is also pretty good insurance for Doc's coaching job.

eh, I don't see Rondo as you can win with being a main guy. And I don't see him making any significant improvements with his jumpshot. So I don't think we'll see him in the all-star game at any point in his career unless they do another DET yay for being on a good team roleplaying all-star type deal.
