Philadelphia 76ers send to OKC:
C-Samuel Dalembert
OKC sends to the 76ers:
F-Nick Collison
G-Earl Watson
Works out salary wise...
Rumors are the Thunder like Harden n DeRozan...If you draft them, you still need a tough 5 down low.Sam and Phily have become a bit disgruntled so a change fo scenery is likely best for both sides.
Dalembert has a nice sized contract but he gives the Thunder something they need: an athletic Center who can rebound defend the rim get up and down teh court with a young athletic team and block shots. His game is pretty similar to Tyson Chandlers who yous tried to acquire as is his contract. His contract is as long as Collison's so after next season it turns into a 12mil exp if things dont work out.
For Philly it ends the bitter relationship of Sam and Philly. We'd hurt losing our Anchor on D, but hopfully Brand comes back 100% and can take over that role. Youngsters Speights and Jason Smith could eat up minutes @ the 5 for us in Eddie Jordans princeton offense with there shooting.Watson gives us a 1 year rental veteran true PG to eat up minutes and give time for our rookie (Lawson) to grow into the starting role and Collison gives us some energy and an overall smart player off the bench @ the 4/5 spot.
Thoughts?

I like it. OkC needs a defensive threat in a bad way, so its an upgrade over Collison. Watson is basically useless at this point.

My point is OKC is one of the few teams that can A.take on Sams contract and B.benefit from him being in the lineup.
It pretty much gives you something you need, for not much and it doesnt financially bury you's because if it doesnt work out, his contract EXP the same year Collison's would.By then Durant would be a friggin superstar mvp caliber player, Green would be entering his prime, Westrbook would be more mature and you could make a serious run at adding a missing piece with his 12 mil EXP as a huge trade asset.

I'm not a big fan. I'd rather unload Watson and collison for next to nothing and go after gortat, lee, or millsap in fa.
I wouldn't want dalembert as the vet on this young team. He could ruin the locker room.

Re: 76ers Board: Dalembert for Watson/Collison?
Im intrigued by this one.
On one hand Sam is a great fit for what the team needs. On the other I don't think its just the 76er's locker room that he has issues with. He also got Canned from the Canadian National team. The reason's weren't all that public, but the vibe of it was that he wasn't good in the locker room and/or wasn't putting in his all during practices etc.
If a man cannot behave himself when playing for his country how much do we really want him?
On reflection I think we should steer clear of him. Like has been mentioned Gortat is who we should go after.
I think just about all of the OKC fans out there want us to get Gortat in F/A

Potentially I think Sam could be exactly what the Thunder need.
The few games I have seen Philly play in the last two years I always thought he played up to his contract considering he was just entering his prime. He always blocked about 5 Sonics shots a game.
Of course now they are the Thunder. But I think at this point with Sam's history he is probably a last option if they don't draft Thabeet or throw money at Gortat in free agency.

i'd definitely do it. dalembert only has two years left so it's not that crippling a contract. he'll be off the books by the time durant/green/et. al have to be resigned. as long as it's only collison and watson going out and no picks, i don't see the downside to this.

Maybe we could combine the two Philly trades on the board
Sam and Louis Williams for Collison, Watson and #25

I like the idea of the trade, depending upon what we do in the draft. However, there always seems to be a lot of negativity around Dalembert... I thought he had a ton of potential a couple of years ago, but he kind of comes across as a malcontent to me now.

Re: 76ers Board: Dalembert for Watson/Collison?
I wonder, and maybe someone with greater knowledge of the 76ers can answer this, but is Dalembert too short to play the 5 out west? In a conference with guys like Gasol, Duncan, Aldridge, etc. that are 6'11" and taller at the 4, can Dalembert make up the the lack of height of Jeff Green at the 4?

Re: 76ers Board: Dalembert for Watson/Collison?
This is a terrible offer. Dalenbert is a starting beast a 7 footer whos athletic a defensive prescence when right, Collison is good, not at Dalenberts level and Watson is ok for a backup.
I have no idea why you guys think this is a good trade, you're maybe new fans to the sport. This is an offer OP put in a machine and the salaries came together, woopee. Player for player it's a garbage trade.
Of course you guys would do it. Now think as a third party perspective. Ahh, now do you see why it's a garbage trade?

Pau Gasol for Kwame Brown?
Laker fans better hope that Bynum turns into a Franchise center or else the Lakers' future looks pretty bad. Unless the Lakers lure KD after his rookie contract is up.

The only reason the 76ers would want to trade a "starting beast" like Dalembert would be that they no longer wanted him. At that point, it becomes a salary dump. For the Thunder to take on the remaining two years and 22+ million left on his deal, the 76ers can't really expect much in return. The 76ers can't really expect a whole lot more for a guy that averages 6ppg and 9rpg. The Hornets were going to get the expiring contracts of Joe Smith and Chris Wilcox, and a second rounder for a guy that averaged a double double the year before (Tyson Chandler).
