Howards "Block" on Pau Game 2 1st quarter

Post#1 » by Mamba Venom » Mon Jun 8, 2009 10:21 am

The front page of the Orlando Sentinel has a picture of Gasol with an incidental finger on the rim with the headline GOAL TENDING

Lee missed the shot straight up but if you are going to go there the paper should ALSO put a pick of Dwights "block" on Gasol in the first with his arm through the center of the hoop holding the net 18 above the hoop! (1st quarter, score 5 to 5)

It was the worst no call in NBA Finals history and if the correct call was made than the Lakers wouldn't have set the NBA Finals record for fewest combined points.

If the correct call was made than the Lakers would have had 2 more points. The Florida news papers need to lay off and the officials need to get better.

The call were a wash but the difference is Gasols dunk was going in and Lees lay up wasn't. I can't find a pic or vid of this anywhere but I want to post a link on the Florida papers website and the forums where they say Gasol goal tended Lee.

ESPN has a big pic of Gasols hand on the rim but there is no pick of Howard w. his arm through the center of the hoop.

Any help w/ a pic or vid of Dwights "block"???

It wasn't goal tending from Gasol because it didn't effect the shot. The ball was way off and had no chance of going in.

I like how ESPN kept on showing over and over prior to going to a commercial.

For sure that was a bad call so if the league wants to review Gasol's play then it's only fair to review Howards' totally noticeable thru the basketball block. If that was any legal-er... if i was the coach i would sign up that tallest china man on my team and have him just stay close to the net to stick his hand up. lol

pau's play was deff not a goaltend, it didnt effect the shot at all. however Howard clearly goaltended, its not even a question. Orlando better not complaina bout any bad calls, in fact in the fouth quarter when kobe drove up on turkalu and he smacked the ball out of kobes had, the reff said it was off of kobes knee. when the replay was shown it clearly didnt touch his knee, was was funny was the commenter noticed it and after the replay clearly changed the subject...

does anyone have video of the play im talkinga obut?

that goal tend is so obvious that a "I wont dignify that with an answer" post is required. you want to impress me, show me a gif of Rashard's no call foul on Kobe just before the Hedo block.

D12 gets one, Pau gets one.

I agree with everybodies post and all I can say is that we won baby. Who cares about the bad calls. If we can win the next 2 games with bad calls I can live with that. And the no call on R.L was a jacked up one as well, but like I said we won SKIP em.

I don't know if anyone else agrees but I have to agree with Barkley. The officiating this entire playoffs has been terrible. I usually try to overlook the refs but they are making it hard this year.

Yao should do that.. just stick his hand in the basket so no one can make a shot. refs might not catch it half the time and he'll easily get 10+ blocks per game and be a triple double machine.
Sasha Vujacic = The Phail Machine = The Ring Blocker

Trade Sasha before he ruins the Lakers next season.

Dwight's goal tend was so obvious and the refs should have given us +2 points. Gasol just touched the rim, he didn't slam or bend it.
