This is crappy news really, but for some reason it doesn't bother me much right now. At the beginning of the year all of the injury news for the rotation kind of overloaded my injury sensors. At this point I don't care.

So he's done, that just means Romero will stick around and we might get to see Cecil sooner rather than later. Cecil projects to be better than Litsch anyway, so I'm not too broken up.

Also I'm by no means saying that he's a bad pitcher, but we'd do well to remember that this is the same Jesse Litsch who pitched himself right out of the majors around this time last year.

This is on their website:

Litsch to Undergo Tommy John Surgery

Blue Jays starting pitcher Jesse Litsch will undergo Tommy John surgery on his pitching arm and will miss at least a calender year. Litsch will see Dr. James Andrews in Birmingham, Alabama on Friday.

That's crappy but at least it gives us time to work with other prospects who have the chance to be better than Litsch pre-collapse anyway. Hope he gets better quickly, but yeah, it could be worse.

:o I'm surprised to see you here, Rhett. I always figured you were too busy stirring up quotes like this for the Raptors board to poke your head in over here.

Maybe the Jays board is starting to pull in a few more converts...

This rotation seems to be cursed. Everyone gets injured in some way or another. Let's hope Roy is immune from whatever the bad luck is and the rest of the guys as well.

This had been rumoured for a few days on a few other sites I frequent, so this news wasn't shocking. Just another injury in a long line of them for the Jays....they'll have to get by somehow.

sad news for Litsch - wish him the best. As far as this effects the Jays though, I thought he was barely a 5th man in the rotation so it's no biggy.
