Dejuan Blair?

Post#1 » by gflem » Wed Jun 10, 2009 10:24 pm

Anyone think that moving up to draft Dejuan Blair might help? He is the strongest player coming out, and might be able to help out with Howard. I dont think its impossible to move up this year, and in Perna's s concenses mock he is at 17 to Charlotte. Maybe an Andy s&t for Wallace and pick, or some combo of Sasha and cash + expirings? I havent thought it out yet, but what do you think?

I would love it if we could get G-force and Blair! Trade them Big Ben for his contract with Pavs and or Boobie however it would work and swap our firsts and give our second! That would give us a true starting SG and Legit backup with great upside.

Mo/West/ (maybe boobie)
G-force/West
Lebron
Anderson/Blair
Z/(hopefully we sign somone)

That move would make us already much better and not upset the chemisrty

Yeah, Big Ben and Pavs works salary wise for Nazr and Wallace. Swap pick and throw in boobie or cash if necessary and that might work. Of course Charlotte might not want to do this, but they would save two long term big contracts. And thats if Blair would still be there. to me Blair is similar to Big Baby Davis without the mid-range jumper. However he seems to have the mean streak that Davis doesnt. Did you see how he flipped Thabeet over his shoulder? That kind of strength and attitude would be nice to see in our Cavs who I think are still a little soft on the interior.

oh hell yeah,

then our line up would be perfect.

Then we could even let Andy walk and sign Charlie V. and someone else or keep Andy and make a decision of Charlie V. or someone else who works better and is cheaper.

Mo/West/Boobie
G-Force/West
Lebron/G-Force/Blair
-either-
Av/Charlie V/Blair/Hickson/Jackson
Z/Mohammed/AV

If we get Blair, Mohammed and Charlie V. I would probably be more willing to not overpay for Andy. But if he comes for the right price (less then 8 mil) then you have to resign him.

Blair might be one of the riskier picks in the draft. He has has knee problems his entire career, dating back to surgery in high school. He is a big body carrying a lot of weight. If the reports of knee problems are accurate, his stock will plummet and he will likely be available when the Cav's pick.

Great college player...but will be a bust in the NBA

We have seen the last of the 6'6 PF when Barkley last played.

I was unaware of any knee problems with him. I know he is short for a pf, but his strength and attitude are something this team sorely lacks.
