Shaq?

Post#1 » by Hemingway » Mon Jun 8, 2009 4:31 am

How about this for an offseason idea... Shaq wants out of PHX and the suns want to save money. If Shaq takes a generous buy out he COULD be here next season for the MLE. I know this sounds far fetched but I don't think it is THAT far out there. I read he wanted to go back to LA. That will blow up in his face when Kobe says no. what better way to save face then winning a title, and stopping Kobe from getting one on the Boston Celtics? Also, what are your thoughts on shaq for the MLE next summer?

Shaq accepting MLE? I highly doubt it. However, anything is possible with Shaq, so it doesn't hurt to try.

Meh, Shaq seemed pretty chummy with kobe this past all star break. Maybe they were just playing it for the media, but I bet he finishes his career in LA.

I dont think Shaq wants to come to Boston, not like the Celtics can afford him (he wouldnt be worthy such salary anyway).
Who would win one-on-one in HORSE?

Bird: Nobody beats me in H-O-R-S-E. Besides, Magic cant shoot.

Magic: Larry, you'd have no chance against me one-on-one. I've got too many ways to beat you. Plus, as slow as I am, I'm still faster than you.

Shaq cannot lead a team anymore...an almost 40 yr old 400 lb center who doesn't take one lick of care of his body? No thanks...

Actually Shaq was one of the better centers in the league this year.

400 lbs is an ignorant overstatement.

He wouldn't come here because he has said int he past that he doesnt like cold weather cities.

I feel like he said once he would like to come here, and even made a "Big Shamrock" joke. If he were bought out, I think this would be plausible.

I've love to have Shaq on the Celtics, we need to improve our bench at multiple positions including center. But Shaq doesn't like the cold so he only plays for teams w/ warm climates.

So you think we should get Shaq for our bench? Or was that supposed to mean Perkins goes to the bench? Orrrrrr.. do we trade Perk for Shaq?? :uhoh:

I don't know about you guys..but IMO, Perk>Shaq right now..

I'd be up for something like Ray + Scal + Giddens + Pruitt for Shaq + Barbosa.
0:01.8 A. Walker makes 3-pt shot from 28 ft (assist by E. Williams) +3 109-108

He'd be great in Boston and would get to crush Kobe and the Lakeshow from here but I don't see phoenix giving up Shaq AND barbosa for Ray Allen and your scrubs.

Phoenix is still looking to unload JRich at SG also
