Man Up, 85% of you owe .04 an apology...

Post#1 » by DubaLakers » Fri Jun 12, 2009 4:51 am

For all the shi* he's received from this board...I know you guys want him to succeed, but damn, he got shredded in here.

It will make you all pure as a Laker fan again. To forgive is to cleanse...

Let's hear it. Don't do it for me, do it for youself, and do it for DFish...

I give half crredit to Kobe as well.

1. He got doubled in the end of 4th, that gave Fish a look to run down
2. Kobe dished it out to Fisher!

As much as I get angry with Fish's old man abilities, he's damn CLUTCH!

As much as he's made me angry the past two seasons...I can't help but smile when I see him smile. He's a great person and I'm glad he finally turned it on. Dude just won us a championship. Love that guy.

My apologies Mr. Fisher.

It's definitely over.

NO apologies from me though. I never thought like most on this board that he should be benched in the Houston series. I thought that his minutes should have been limited against a bad matchup in Aaron Brooks but I knew that the Denver and Orlando guards were a much better matchup for him.

Never thought he should retire.

Never thought Farmar or Brown was better.

Never thought he washed up.

I still want Kidd though ... which pushes Fish to the bench as a third guard ... which IMO is where he belongs.

Fish gets me sooo angry at times!!! i hate how he bricks lay-ups and gets blown by other guards but the truth is when it REALLY counts and he's got the rock, he's clutch. I was freakin out when he took those two big 3s but i do believe in Fish, after .04 it's hard not to i mean i STILL see that clip and i can't believe it went down. BUT i'll admit i did say some **** that he shouldn't attack for lay-ups so...

I'M SORRY DEREK FISHER, I MET YOU AND YOU ARE A GENTLEMAN!!!

Yup that would be me. I even apologized on the brutal General Board in front of all the Laker haters. I will do it here again.

Mr. Derek Fisher, I publicly apoplogize for all the bad things I said about you. I didn't mean to say you suck and that you should retire. You are good.

Well doesn't mean I wouldn't have had Phil sub in other guys more in other series, but he's always been my number one choice for a last shot. Yes much more than Kobe. Good work Fish.

He was shooting pretty well at the beginning of the season but he had to log extra minutes in the middle because of the Farmar injury so I thought he was just burned out. That extra week of rest before the Finals seemed to have helped though.

I quite honestly was giving him the Farmar treatment during the Rockets series. I really wished PJ would put him in the end of the bench b/c he was playing so bad. This series Fisher has proved me wrong, I'm sorry Fish, you are THE MAN

Fish is a great option in clutch scenarios.

It's the other 47 minutes that he struggles with.

In all seriousness, it was a great shot (and a great decision), by the only player outside of Kobe who I trust taking and making clutch shots. All credit to Fish for hitting the biggest shot in the game, and so far, the biggest shot in the series.

never doubted him. and heres why, his experience. most of you know jax, and IT IS the only reason why he plays him late in the game. brown or farmar can get hot, but they'll get pulled for fish late in the game. why? because jax knows how valuable his experience is, and in key situations, it'll come to shine.

also he is one of the few if not THE ONLY who can at this point call off kobe and run a play the other way. and right now, kobe is frothing at the mouth yellin at dudes, tellin 'em to give him the ball. but fish can look him straight in the face and say no, lets go the other way. or if they double down on kobe, he knows where to be and where to go and hit the game winner.

i knew. JUST KNEW that farmar and brown are not in that position in their career to play at his level when the chips are all in. fish is that guy. thats why i never doubted him.

Fish is a better clutch player than Kobe. I believed in Fish the whole year.

or . . . kobe takes on such of a big load throughout the game, that others are needed to step up in key situations. and fish has that lone experience in doing that in key situations.

anyhow, tonite, he showed up BIGTIME in the clutch, and i'm happy that all of us LAKER fans are going to celebrate with just 1 more victory!!

I'd admit I doubted his credentials to lead us to a title but I realize that he's probably the one Lakers I admire the most next to Kobe. He's given us nothing but joy and whenever he played for us we've either won or competed for the championship.

Props to a great man and a wonderful servant to the Lakers organization.

Kobe was not going to be allowed to succeed tonight. Orlando's entire game plan is based around denying Kobe and if it weren't for Kobe making the right pass at the right time, guys like Ariza, Gasol and Fisher won't get theirs.
