MEMPHIS GRIZZLIES AND DALLAS MAVERICKS TRADE

Memphis and Dallas have agreed upon a trade involving Jason Kapono and Marko Jaric

Memphis sends

Marko Jaric - $7,100,000

Dallas sends

Jason kapono - $6,212,960

Memphis incoming - $6,212,960
Memphis outgoing - $7,100,000
math: $7,100,000 x 1.25 + $100,000 = $8,885,000
$6,212,960 < $8,885,000 ... The trade works

This trade helps Memphis make the PG position less crowded and add some more depth to the SF position by getting an elite shooter in Jason Kapono (who did not have that great of a season but can still be a threat from beyond the arc).

Trade to annouce with Memphis

Jose Calderon $8,219,008
DaJuan Summers $800,000

for

Greg Buckner $4,080,916 (Unguaranteed)
Mike Conley $3,883,800

We couldn't afford to have Calderon as a backup, we were looking to cut costs and get younger and we did this here. Conley has showed this year why he was taken 4th in 2007, he is only 21 and we are pleased to welcome him to DET. Ty Lawson and him will fight for minutes behind Miller.

Grizzlies accept. This allows grizzlies to have a pure leader in calderon who has playoff experience and is an ideal leader and a veteran to be on the team for the young lads like Mayo and Jennings.

Woops, I guess I'm not at the roster limit yet. The Wizards waive Mike James.

Can I put this on hold for a day? My Harrington deal didn't go through, I want to make sure it does before I deal Kapono

Revised deal between Clippers and Mavericks:

Mavericks trade:
Udonis Haslem ($7,100,000)
Jerome James ($6,600,000)
2012 2nd

Total: 13.7 mil

Clippers trade:
Al Harrington ($10,000,000)
Walter Herrman ($825,497 )

Total: 10.825 mil

Clippers cap: $53,323,488. They swallow 2.9 mil taking them up to 55.2 mil which should work under the cap

I accept the Jaric/Kapono deal after this goes through
It's going to be a glorious day... I feel my luck could change

Orlando and Detroit have come to an agreement.

Kelenna Azubuike/Alexis Ajinca/Steven Hunter for Mike Conley/Charlie Bell

$3,100,000 + $1,372,080 + $3,696,000 = $8,168,080

$3,883,800 + $3,602,960 = $7,486,760 x 1.25 +100g = $9,458,450

Money works...

Orlando does this deal to get a PG that has potential to be great. Conley really came on towards the end of the season and will solidify our backcourt rotation. It hurts to lose Azubuike's shooting but we still have Morrow/Murphy at #1, #3 in 3 FG% and both Conley/Watson are at or above 40% so we are good in that area. Now we have someone who can really get the ball to Dwight.

Orlando accepts

Confirm. With Lawson on board we felt we couldn't find the minutes to keep Conley happy. Also Conley is due to make around 5 mill next year and we needed to cut costs. We accomplish that here, we dump the Bell contract for Azu who expires in a year, and can fill the backup SG spot quite nicely. Hunter is an expiring and we feel that Ajinca has a ton of upside and we will have fun developing him.

With this deal we are now even better setup to sign that big name FA to complete our lineup. You know he is getting ancy at the thought of a dynasty bigger than Jordan's.

I just don't see an extension in his future, unless he has the IQ of a rock that is.

Orlando and New Orleans have reached an agreement(contigent upon Orlando/Detroit trade)...

Charlie Bell/rights to Sergio Llull and Fran Vasquez for Corey Brewer

$3,602,960
$2,916,120 x 1.25 +100g = $3,745,150

money works

We didn't really have a need for Bell or a 3rd young PG(Llull) but did have a need for a SF. We are happy to add the defensive minded(and another good 3 point shooter) Corey Brewer to our team.

Orlando accepts

With Prince already on board and solid backup SF options(Hayes/Butler), we didn't have much of a need for Brewer. Bell's 2010 cap number is only 100k more than Brewers and we really like the two young players we're getting in return. Vazquez has said he wants to come over this season and we like having the option to add a proven 6'10 F/C to our squad on a rookie deal. We also like Llull as a PG prospect and believe he can come right over and contribute as a backup PG if need be. Aside from his fine PG skills, we like his shooting next to a guard like Roy.

New Orleans Accepts.

Lebron is staying in LA or will leave with a sign and trade, and Bostonis not a destination that can be accomodated with a sign and trade because the team has no players that are worth trading for, and once again will leave lebron without a supporting cast, while in LA we have four solid players and just need to pick up a center in Free Agency with our loads of caproom
