I think its disrespect of LEbron and Nike to make that commercial. OBviously Lebron didn't actually voice the puppet but he had to have atleast seen the commercial and said ok go ahead.

Yeah that definitely came off as a diss to Cleveland. Painted a picture that LeBron is painfully counting the days until he can finally be free of Cleveland. Not the classiest ad Nike ever aired.

I didn't see it that way at all. I saw it as Lebron being focused on taking it to another level in 2010 on the court. As in, next year's playoffs, not "I'm busting out of this town". Some of y'all are getting just paranoid with this stuff.

BTW I think this whole puppet line of commercials is terrible.

What are you guys talking about? He struggled to get up the 2009th rep....and finished on the 2010 one. Meaning that he did not finish the job in 2009 but 2010 is the year.

Listen to Chris Broussard. If he says LeBron is likely to re-sign in Cleveland, then we have a GREAT chance. He is closer to LeBron's inner-circle than any reporter.

oh thats how i interpreted the commercial as well...i just hate that we have to hear about it anytime there is even a hint of new york next season - in this case the bird which is flying away (could be interpreted as the orange and blue "myth" is flying away as well)

either way, nike made the commercial for it to be in the news and to get people talking about it...and i think thats what they did - im sure the knicks fans are wetting their pants over that damn bird too lol

Why would the bird be there at all? The bird is the Knicks. You guys can spin it but that's the reason the bird is there, and that's the overwhelming subtext of the ad.

Granted, it's a double entendre, they're hinting at the 2010 championship too, but the only reason they made the commercial is because of the big 2010 free agency.

Nike is acknowledging/stating that it will be between the Knicks and Cavs. That between him trying to win a title and his impending free agency, 2010 is a big year.

And of course LeBron approved this ad before it came out.

^^ This guy feels strongly that LeBron is a Knick in 2010... Even has it down to percentages... :P

Some won't listen to reason...

In fact, Knicks fans are even under the impression that this bird is a sign.. It's become that pathetic there..But, good for them.. At least it's a little something to look forward to, and a little hope.. Nothing wrong with that..

Look, if you want something to really grab at and stick, when LeBron doesn't sign his extension this summer, and when LeBron is sitting at Yankee stadium later in the year as he's promoting his film during the summer, you guys can also leech off of those "signs" as well...Take it to the hills and run with it..

Just figured I would bring it up so it's not NEW YORK POST BREAKING NEWS....

So I've just got to ask a yes or no question - the bird has no meaning in the ad? LOL.

Actually if you read what I wrote, I think it's 50-50. But you know what is 100%? The bird represents free-agency and it's not an accident that he's blue and orange. C'mon now lol.

Who gives a damn what you think the meaning of some stupid puppet bird is? Christ man get a grip on reality. I will really, REALLY feel bad for you if LeBron isn't in New York because your life seems to revolve around that.

Just relax.

Cleveland fans just have to ignore stuff like this. LeBron is a Cavalier and odds are he will re-sign. Knick fans don't have a future right now...stuff like this is their NBA Playoffs. Cleveland fans have better things to talk about. Stupid threads like this need to be locked.

The thing is, I don't understand what the big hoopla is here ??

LeBron has already come out and stated he loves playing in the Garden and loves the New York area...You would think things like that would comprise a little more hope for Knicks fans... Yet, it's a blue and orange bird that is shown for 4 seconds and flies away that gets them jumping...

That's difference here... Cavs fans don't pay attention to this stuff whereas Knicks fans get excited... :-?

Cavs fans shouldn't be worried unless the Knicks get a bonafide second option. Stephen Curry(he's coming), Gallinari, Chandler and David lee are all nice role-players but none of them are in the Scottie Pippen mold.
