This was the first thing that popped into my head when I saw Hossa after the game; I actually might buy it off the site and wear it.

I was too. I hate NBC. They should of showed him and Talbot. I wanted to see if Talbot would hold true to his word as to what he would say to Hossa had the Pens won. Now I'll never know.

Talbot is such a clutch player. He makes huge plays when the team needs it. His goal in game 5 last finals, his fight with Carcillo in the first round, his 2 big goals against Carolina and now this game.

Anyway, I'm done with Hossa now. I really believe he hurt Detroit's chances of winning the cup this series. THe Pens had extra motivation to win it all. Plus, he played like garbage.

Now we'll see if Hossa truly wants to win the cup. Will he bolt for Edmonton for the money or sign with another team with a shot to win it all?

Was watching the french feed (RDS) and they did show Talbot and Hossa shaking hands...They seem to have exchanged polite words and claps on the back...Talbot is one classy dude :)

I hate betting against Detroit, but here goes: 3-1 Pens, Fleury 1st star

I should not have given the Pens an empty net goal

Fleury was huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge

I just read an article about Talbot and he said all he said to Hossa was something along the lines of Congratulations man. Talbot did say he knows Hossa knows he made the wrong decision and doesn't need to remind him.

So who gets Hossa now? And who loses in the Stanley Cup Final because of it?

Edmonton. Here is another funny little stat. Ty Conklin was the backup for Detroit this year, the Pens last year and Edmonton in 05 when they lost. Whoever takes Conklin will play in the Winter Classic and lose in the finals.

So either Boston or Washington. Actually Washington just might pick him up and they could reasonably make it to the Finals.

I beg to differ. If this was a big deal, why hasn't Lidstrom said anything? Crosby shook most of the players hands except the people who went first, which were Hossa, Draper and Lidstrom. The reason he didn't do this is because Crosby was congratulating his team. It's not his fault the Red Wings wanted to leave the ice right away. At least the Pens showed respect last year and allowed Detroit to celebrate for more then 2 mins. He's a 21 year old kid who finally let his emotions take over. Draper should have approached this a different way if he felt it was wrong.

And Draper has no room to talk when Chelios, his teammate, has not shook hands on purpose several time. I don't recall Draper making a big deal about that.

And I'm sorry Ajax, I am getting really tired of most Red Wing fans after this series. I never thought they would stoop so low as saying Bettman rigged the draft and this series. Why the hell would Bettman rig the draft and have Crosby go to Pittsburgh? Wouldn't NYR, Montreal, Detroit, LA, these big market teams have been a better place for Crosby?

They're bitching about the refs. Give me a break. The refs were awful for both sides.

I'm getting so sick of this crap. The kid has done so much for hockey. His dedication to the game can't be matched by any player in the game today. You never hear him bad mouth a player. He respects the game and the players and this is the crap he has to deal with. It's getting pathetic. He didn't ask for any of this.

I'm just going to have to look at it as pure jealousy from now on just so it doesn't piss me off anymore.

1. easy there killer. I have never stated rigging or Bettman or any of that garbage. Find me a post where i claim cheating. I dont speak for all Wing fans and they dont speak for me. So frankly dont lump me in with "everyone". I know you are celebrating and thrilled but come on, chill the hell out. I missed over half the series and cant comment on games 1-4; the refs did suck on both sides but it was both sides. I again make no excuses; you guys won fair and square. Should Talbots first goal have been icing.....yeah. Should Brad Stuart have sucked so much ass in game 7....well i wish not.

2. I actually like Crosby. More than Ovechkin. I think he mostly gets an unfair rap for his play and actions because the media has crowned him the next Gretzky. That sucks for him. but again, i am not a Crosby hater. So i dont understand why i get a rant on what Crosby deserved.

3. Pure jealousy? Give me a break. Im not even going to respond to this garbage, i'm very content with my team. The Wings are a class franchise, so hate away.

4. Draper is a class act. Whether you like it or not. I dont know what happened after the game. I dont particularly care. But frankly someone who has been in the league sooo ******** long and who has done nothing but show sportsmanship and dedication the game is not just some random ****. so dont make him out to be so.

This little rant may seem angry or such but really everyone, be easy for a few days. I just saw my team lose an emotional game. Everyone is a Wings hater it seems. I dont think i am being irrational here. Just back the hell off me.

I wasn't lumping you in with the other Wings fans. I know you have never said any of that garbage I posted.

I just find it disrespectful in what Draper said. He didn't need to go through the press. The kid takes a lot of crap to begin with and he didn't need a black eye on him winning his first cup. Maybe Draper should have thought about this to begin with. Maybe Draper should have talked to his teammates first to see if he really did snub them. If he did, he would have realized Crosby didn't snub them. And you can't talk crap like this when your own teammate snub the Ducks in 06, and you didn't say a word. I don't know, to me, this sounds like him being a sore loser. No other Red Wing made a problem about this and all took this lose like someone who has won the cup before.

I may have been a little drunk last night and a little upset when posting that last one....whoops.

Thanks though, i understand your point. I would be just as mad if this was a Pens player saying the same of Lidstrom or something. Either way, water under the bridge. Enjoy the title

Lol. Oh. Most of that wasn't directed towards you anyway. Just the first paragraph. Hearing all of that stuff sucks because the Pens busted their ass to win the cup, beat the best team fair and square and for fans to still act that way is just bull.

It feels weird that the season is over. Went to the parade yesterday. Shaved the playoff beard last night, which I am already kind of regretting. Jersey is in the closet until October. It was a great year, but its always kind of sad to see hockey and basketball playoffs end. There is only baseball to carry sports through the rest of the summer, with maybe some assorted golf tournaments here and there.

Sid was on Jim Rome today, and when asked about the handshake issue, basically threw it away.
Not quoting directly, but said that he has no regrets, he was celebrating winning the cup. Watch the tape, he made an effort, just not fast enough for those who chose to leave the ice early.
He said he has been on the other side, and understands you want to leave the ice soon, but he wouldnt change how he handled the situation.
Also said that he was not the only player who did not get a chance to shake every players hand, and thinks its getting a bit overdone.

Two things, imo. . . . 1) i like how he kept saying that he didnt get a chance to shake hands. Watching the game, i was blown away at how fast Det lined up, and for the Captain to leave so early, i think as much is on Det as Sid.
2) The most telling part to me is two people that Sid DID get a chance to shake hands with (Drapes and Z) were the ones talking, while the supposed disrespected player Lidstrom has said nothing. Totally being overblown, and really a shame as it will be brought up over and over and instead of being able to celebrate this win, Sid has to answer these stupid questions.
