all the same to me. Doesn't really matter I guess, you could poll every player in the draft and have them rank the NBA teams on who they'd most want to play for and Wolves would be bottom 5 on probably every list.

But like I've been saying all along, the three I like are Harden, Evans, and Holiday. Just depends on the time of day on how they're ranked.

thats easy, 1. Harden, 2. Evans, and then 20,000 leagues under the sea.....Holiday

True, which is the reason that we would actually have an opportunity to draft him as late at 18. I think he's worth the gamble there, providing that someone unforeseen hasn't slipped. While he is a definite boom or bust pick, I think he's much more likely to be a productive pro than BJ Mullens.

its kind of a pointless move too, it's one thing if a guy you don't have a good feel for like Jennings or somebody doesn't work out for you, but you're not going to learn anything new about Curry, I'm sure all 30 teams have a pretty good feel for his game

The way it sounds is that we would just be holding Curry for NY if we picked him. F that.

I would be delirious with ecstasy if we got Earl Clark at 18.

Possible lovely scenario if somehow Harden, Evans, Curry, and Holiday were all there at #6.

1. Clippers - Griffen
2. Grizzlies - Rubio
3. Thunder - Thabeet
4. Kings - Jennings
5. Wizards - Hill
6. Wolves - Curry
7. Warriors - Harden/Evans/Holiday/Flynn???
8. Knicks - Harden/Evans/Holiday

Wolves take Curry and trade him to the Knicks to get our one of the two guys the Warriors pass on. Assuming the Warriors need a big point guard like Evans, we'd get Harden or Holiday. Now I know it's doubtful that the Thunder and Wizards pass on Harden, but play along. :-) Flynn's rise up the board and lack of interest in defense plays along well with the Warriors passing on one of the guys we want.

I've heard conflicting stories about Mobley's contract being traded, if the new team benefits from the insurance since he actually retired, or not. I think since Jerome James is still "active" that's why teams would benefit from his insurance paid contract, but let's assume Mobley's contract is covered by insurance for his new team.

Trade:
Wolves get: #8(Harden/Evans/Holiday) and Cuttino Mobley
Knicks get: #6(Stephen Curry), Brian Cardinal, and Mark Madsen

Saves the Wolves 50k in cap space, and saves Glen Taylor 80%(???) of Mobley's deal, or $7.6mil. This hopefully entices Taylor to spend money in 2010. This also clears a roster spot for the Wolves. Trade also likely doesn't make us any better, thus no concerns about that Clippers pick. :-)

Knicks do it to get their guy, plus they don't take on any post-2010 salary, so no concern for them.

We could also toss in the #28 pick or a 2nd rounder in order to save the $7.6mil and roster spot, if the Knicks need. Really in the end we get the guy we want, end up paying him less than what we would have if we took him at #6, clear the roster spot, and save a ton of money. Now of course doing that is scary because then we have to live with the Roy situation again if Curry blows up in New York.

like last year when there were arguably 3-5 other players better than Mayo at 3, I think there's similar evenly available talent at 6 this year. There's no reason to even get involved in Curry's weird little game, he's not that special of a player.

uh, what? now it's easy to say there were 3-5 players better than mayo. at the time, mayo was pretty much the consensus #3...I don't remember anyone saying, "brook lopez's stock is dropping like a rock!" during last year's draft.

I'm assuming that DSW is saying that after the season ended, knowing what we know now, there were a few players better than Mayo at #3. Like Lopez, Westbrook, and arguably Love and/or Gordon. Not saying I agree or diagree with that, just saying that might be the thinking.

no, I'm saying even before the draft that it was clear Mayo wasn't the complete package or anything, he wasn't some insurpassable prospect at #3, he was one of several good prospects for that range. Same with this year, Curry wasn't even a top 10 prospect most of the year, passing on him at 6 isn't a curse, its a privilege

I hope he and Flynn just jump into the top 5 and we don't have to worry about it, even though I do like Curry. Maybe the Kings will take him...Stephen Curry is basically the Kevin Martin of point guards...or whoever trades for the #5

1. Griffin
2. Rubio
3. Thabeet
4. Flynn/Curry/Evans
5. Curry/Evans/Flynn
6. Harden

Yes!! Harden!

Also, report that Curry is shutting it down after Washington workout was false.

It doesn't mention whether he is working out for the Wolves or not, but it just says that he is still scheduling workouts after Washington.

Here's the Wolves draft page. Most of the guys it has stuff on so far are guys in consideration for our non lottery picks.

Gerald Henderson, Ryan Amoroso, Terrence Williams, Bryan Davis were in today. Ryan Amoroso and Bryan Davis? Who? Apparently Amoroso is a local kid and we continue to waste Taylor's money by working local kids out.

Henderson is the only one I like out of the group.

Such a strange comment. It's not like the coaches are getting paid by the hour. They probably brought him in so they could play some 2 on 2.

I'm heading in to watch the Wolves workout Tyreke Evans, Ty Lawson, Jrue Holiday, Brandon Jennings, Jonny Flynn and others tomorrow morning...this should be a pretty intense and important workout to see all of these guys going head to head. I hope Evans tears them all apart to be honest but we will have to see. I'll get back with some thoughts after seeing these guys live in person when I get back though.

Amoroso was a Mr. Basketball candidate in 2004(I believe) who went to Marquette for one season before transferring to a california school because he didn't play much for the eagles. Not sure why he's in working out.
