OT: Could the Griz be the JUNIOR LAKERS?

Post#1 » by Mamba Venom » Sun Jun 14, 2009 4:20 am

If they draft 7-1 Thabeet instead of Rubio they would look like this

Dunlevey 15 / 7 good pg
Mayo 20 / 4 / 4 wants to be like Kobe
Gay 15 / 3 / 5 wants to be a rock in the middle
Gasol 14 / 10 wants to be like big bro
Thabeet 10 / 10 a 7-1 guy that protects the basket and wants to be a traditional center

Just an outsider looking in.
Dunlevey is good and Memphis shouldn't give up on a 21 year old who went for 15 / 5 after the all-star break. Why waste the pick for a slight upgrade? Go big and then try to find a tweener off of the bench and the GRIZ can be the junior Lakers.

Just my opinion IMO. I thought we owed them some advice after the Gasol trade. :D

Griz GM to Mitch: "We're close on the value but I need a little more"
Mitch: "We'll I can't give you anymore draft picks or anything but I can teach you how to build a succesful team after we get this trade done."
Griz GM: "Sold!"

Wait for a couple of losing seasons and we trade an expiring Sasha Vujacic for Mayo.

That slick fox Mike Dunleavy Sr has some game with the ladies. Conley took his mom's name because Mike Sr was busy raising Mike Jr and playing good husband with Ms Dunleavy, but the first name was passed down through family lines along with the hoops acumen. The Jr on Conley's name is really a secret clue. They've been outed and their secret is finally out.

Just waiting for the espn outside the lines on this one. Nice find e.

They can draft Thabeet all day but if they do he WON'T start, M.Gasol will still be the starting center. Plus he has the bigger frame to combat the leagues centers while Thabeet doesn't.

Conley not Dunlevey

I was tired last night

They need to teach Marc Gasol to play PF and cover C duties as a back up and go large.

Modeling their team after the Lakers can only help the Grizz
(Just stop letting Bynum get injured there ok guys)

No, they'd be stupid not to take Rubio. They have the same problem Denver had last year, they don't have a floor general. Mayo and Gay both need ball to score and neither is a good enough creator to set up the other one; Rubio can bring out the potential in both of them. Plus, they'll have cap space in 2010 I believe so they can make a run at a top free agent pf. They'd be deadly if they got, say, Bosh or Amare. Can you imagine Rubio+Amare, reminiscent of Nash+Amare?

Rubio
Mayo
Gay
Amare
Gasol

That's a scary team.

Reading a bit about Amare. No way I take a chance on him.

If I was the Suns, I trade Amare for picks and next year picks.
