twins 9, cubs 0.

soriano goes 0-5 with 5 K's

the ship is sinking fast. sadly enough we can't even be sellers at the dead line because nobody will take any of our pieces! they all suck! soriano is batting .230 with a .290 OBP. a normal player would be optioned down with those stats. we have wasted absolutely masterful pitching. wells should have 6 wins but instead he has none. absolutely terrible offense.

and it doesn't make sense to acquire a hitter at the dead line because one hitter won't do anything. we'd need to bring in 3 or 4 hitters. we're an 80-82 win team.

ive decided to return to the cubs forum (been really busy and havent had time to focus on the cubs) in hopes it brings more offense which leads to more runs and more wins...although i doubt it

cubs break out their hitting pants and win 4-2

Perry fired. New hitting coach = VOn Joshua, Iowa Cubs manager. Perry has been able to get our offense out of some jams before but this jam he couldn't. Hopefully Joshua can. But ultimately the players have to take the blame. Wiretap says Lee could be traded for Cain. What would you think of this trade? If somehow our sucky offense gets better and we get A-Ram back maybe we should do this. I also think we should trade Fox somewhere and get some value for him.

I think we'd have to give up a lot more than Lee for Cain.

If anyone is willing to give much value for Derrek, we should take it. Either Hoffpauir or Fox can replace his production for a fraction of the cost.

the problem here is soriano. 8-years/$140M and he's now batting .220. we cannot afford to keep him in the lineup anymore. he's killing us. i mean, he is literally killing us.

a secondary problem is fukudome reverting back to the spin-o-rama.

one positive sign is soto. he went 3-4 today and has started showing signs of his old self. somehow we're 2.5 games out of 1st. absolutely ridiculous how terrible the NL central is.
