let us bask in the glory of a championship, but now we have to focus on the back to back next year for 2009-2010
many holes in our roster and the key looming decision:
ODOM or ARIZA?
What do we do with Bynum?
How will Kobe do in the offseason with a looming pinkie surgery?
and the quest for 2010 championship begins now.

Odom. Period. He is too valuable to this team. What he showed tonight is that he is what puts the Lakers over the top. Ariza is replacable, Odom not so much. The Lakers may want to target a guy like Summers with their pick to play part of Ariza's role.

Odom. Back.
Ariza. Back
It won't hurt their luxury tax that bad. And you always take advantage of bird exemptions because you can always trade the players, that alone is worth the premium paid. I don't think it's even a question that both will be back.

Re: 2009 off season thread
Gasol is the backup Center and where else can the Lakers find a 3rd center who only makes 959k and knows the schemes. Keep DJ too.
The only real need is a big PG (same issue for 10 yrs now).

Re: 2009 off season thread
DJ earned another year with that clutch 3 minute stretch in the first qtr of Game 4. AB, PG and LO on the pine, down 6 going on 8, but they ended it down 4 and DJ had that nice swat to end the qtr and keep the deficit at 4. Welcome back big fella.
