I have know idea how we would get him, and obviously a Rondo trade would have to happen. But I watch the Big East a lot (Georgetown alum) and Jonny Flynn really seems like a Danny Ainge draft pick to me. In all the mocks he's listed late lottery. That blows my mind!!
Any thoughts??

Re: Jonny Flynn
If we landed the #2 any chance we trade down. Or is it just Rubio and that's it? I've been watching a lot of Rubio clips since these rumors started and I'm not sold on him. All speculation I know but, that is what the summer is about..........right!

I like flynn a lot too. Maybe if that original PHX deal were to happen, flynn would drop to 14.

I like Rubio, or I should say, I like the hype of Rubio. Like mentioned above, when you watch game film, he makes a few special passes, but that's pretty much it. Everyone's always upset how Rondo can't shoot, well Rubio isn't the best shooter either. Basically we'd be getting rid of a soon to be all star in Rondo and someone who already fits and runs our team well to get a kid with high potential? Potential kills.
I love Flynn. But the same aspect goes with the Rubio/Rondo rant I just had. Unless Rondo is demanding a max contract (which is something he shouldnt be demanding) then I don't understand why we would trade a proven star in Rondo for a rookie who has potential. Flynn was great in college, but you NEVER know how a player is going to transfer from college to the NBA.

Re: Jonny Flynn
I am not overly familiar with Flynn, but from what I can gather online, he is an undersized PG that makes a living in the paint, not necessarily a formula for success in the NBA. Even despite his size, he was a poor rebounder, said by many stat people to be a really bad omen. Aaron Brooks, Marcus Banks, and even Damon Stoudamire were better rebounders their sophomore year of college. On other message boards I have seen people express the opinion that his decision making could use some improvement.
His assist totals are decent and I'm sure his shot will improve with age. Overall though he doesn't strike me as a good risk in the lottery...

Re: Jonny Flynn
Flynn is a hell of a player I don't think you can take too much away from his skill level at this point he is only a sophomore. The only concern I have is the lack of any real consistent size in the Big East and whether the ease he has finishing at the rim are a product of that or not. But he has a much better jump shot and range than Rondo, not quite the defender and not a pass first guy but not slouch either.
Size doesn't bother and while it is nice to have a pg who is a good rebounder at the same time I don't pick my PF's based on their assist totals and on top of that SYR had two guards who were monsters on the glass.
I don't think I would give up the proven thing in Rondo to get him but he would certainly fill the void, but it looks like that word is out on him he is going in the top 10 if not higher.
