Celtics "Bought" a championship? Laker's were GIVEN one...

For all that bull talk about how the Celtics "bought" a Championship, they aren't the ones who essentially traded for an all star PF with a sack of marbles...

Just give credit where credit is due. It doesn't matter that the Magic didn't really belong there, or that L.A. didn't give up much to acquire Pau Gasol -- they made it to the Finals and beat their opponent which is all you have to do. The Lakers deserve the trophy they just won.

We didn't have KG healthy this year, so we didn't hold up our end of the bargain when it comes to giving them a rematch. Next year will hopefully be a different story.

Hopefully next year they don't even make the damn Finals. The West has got to step it up..all the talent in the conference, and nobody is smart enough to put a winning team together..or at least a good enough team to beat LA...

That's because the Lakers are really good.

Hopefully next year the East steps it up. All the talent in that conference and nobody is smart enough to put a winning team together? Or at least a good enough team to beat Orlando?

Congrats to the Lakers for beating a sorry a$$ team. Just doesn't seem right. To bad KG went down because a rematch this year would've been amazing. Just like the 80's. Oh well there's always next year. :P

Classy post dude. The series could have easily swung their way, but in the end the better team won.

This year we may have caught a break by KG going down and Magic beating the Cavs. But you guys caught one last year with Bynum being out and Ariza not beign at full strentgh. But since had the better record and beat us twice that year, one can argue that you "deserved" it.

This year was the opposite and the basketball gods spoke. I honestly want Boston in the finals again. I'm still not at peace for that humbling beat down and need revenge to get rid of the demons.

Here's hoping we meet again, as it should be. Lakers vs Celtics.

How about the Lakers went out and took care of business? It's obvious that a chip existed on their shoulders from last season. I bet that taste is still in their mouths even now. But, I'm not going to boo the Lakers for doing what was expected, and presumed by most once the NBA Finals match-ups were set and that was to win the championship. On the other hand, I'll readily boo the Magic for laying down and showing no heart. Admittedly, I watched nothing of the NBA Finals. However, you should never concede a championship to the other team on your home floor. Where's your dignity? I'd said to myself: Watch Orlando, feeling that the series is probably over, give less effort in the end to avoid traveling back to Los Angeles and having to face elimination there. At least the Lakers won two of their home games in last year's NBA Finals, and made Boston win the championship on their own floor.

On the other hand teams should be worried and thinking of ways to keep the Lakers and Celtics out of next seasons Finals, cause chances are both are going to face each other again if everything flows the right way. And like I always say the league is just better when it's the Lakers and Celtics, that's just they way it is.

Both of these franchises had a lock on the decade once before it ain't like it can't happen again.

Last year, my Laker buddy asked me in Feb or March which team was the best--I said the Celtics....He asked me the same question this year at around the same time---I said, the Lakers.....Cause both teams were beating the Good teams during the regular season---and BOTH teams ended up winning the title.

Even though we went 27-2, we really didn't dominate like last season---and KG didn't seem quite right from the get go----well, now we know that his knee was bad right from training camp.....The Lakers took care of business all season long--and though it's painful to say--They were the best team this season---NOT the Cavs-cause they didn't consistently beat GOOD teams---and NOT us, cause we hurt and our bench SUCKED.

Hey, congratulations to you! I almost didn't recognize you, did you change the avatar again? I haven't read a post from you in a while so I was uncertain if that was you. Sometimes, I don't remember names but I do remember the avatar of those posters who seldom change them. I know you tend to use Kareem.
