Free Agency Lamar or Ariza..

Post#1 » by kevin_405 » Mon Jun 15, 2009 3:31 am

Now that we have won the C..

Who do u think the Lakers will try to keep, I think we can afford only one of them and i have a feeling it will be Lamar..

Ariza will be probably gone, unless we can trade our picks and Adam to get cap space..

I think Ariza will be gone since a team will offer more than we can give. I'm hoping that team is Detroit, so we can sign and trade him for Prince (two years left on contract and reasonable deal) and stay atop.

Magic just said he'd pay both of 'em and he's a part owner. I think it was already agreed that we were going to keep both if we win the chip.

I think Dr Buss is going to be more inclined to pay the luxury tax now what the Lakers have won the championship. So...both!

Gotta keep both. Buss you just made millions winning the ring. Give it up some and lets see if they can win another. Chicago had to keep Jordan, Pippen, and Phil Jackson together until they didn't want to do it anymore. Buss should do the same.

He'll I'm buying Lakers Championship merchandise. I'll pay to go to the damn parade. Lets party it up again next year.

wow that's a tough one for you guys. Unless Ariza denies a bigger offer to stay in LA for another run, I don't see Ariza staying. It's time to cash-in for Ariza and he deserves it.

Pay the tax and keep both of them because it's worthy. Now Buss knows it and will do that.

i think kobe needs to restructure. he doesnt HAVE to. but he can and that is an option at this point. ariza and lamar need to get paid. but it aint gonna happen without paying the tax. and i do not believe the buss family is going to do that.

they will pay the tax...the bad economy helps, in addition to the fact that the only teams with significant cap room are not close enough to making a run to justify throwing a ton of $ at either...wild card is Portland, because they could overpay for Ariza ($9M?) and both improve their team and subtract from the Lakers...it would be nice if someone with cap space would take Ammo, but I don't see that happening...

i think so too. they know what stage this team is at. very young. strong superstar. all experienced in winning championship. and to break it up now is NOT the LAKER way. thats what we do. they know it. and they'll fight to keep it intact.

with that said, with the firesale goin on at phoenix, and the mentioning of amare stoudamire, hmmmm. (just kiddin about that dream)

but the organization i believe see the positives far outweigh the negatives in breaking this team up.

I think they will keep both.
You have to keep this group together.
The experience of this title and the learning from the loss last year is priceless.
Gotta keep both and find a way to sign Brown too.
Do it Mitch!

I think that management will do whats needed BUT to be honest I think KOBE should show his true leadership and take a small cut to about 17-18 million to show how much he really wants to keep this team together for more runs at the ring. That would put him in a different light than most superstars nowadays ( sans duncan ) and even if managment will cover things it will show how much the rest of the team means to him and bring us together even more for defending our title.
