Forget Shaq go after Amare...

Post#1 » by Amon_Ones88 » Mon Jun 15, 2009 2:56 pm

First off, just because I do not know, would it not be easier to re-sign Amare to a new contract if he was already on our team...and if not his contract will still expire for us right?

Anyway...

Suns/Cavs trade:
Amare/Lopez/Dragic
for
Ben/Sasha/JJ/2009 1st and 2010 1st (lets face it, I plan to be drafting at the very end of the draft from now on so there won't ever be much there to help.)

Mo/Dragic/Boobie
West/Boobie/Dragic
Lebron
Amare/Andy
Z/Lopez

plus we have a little money to spend on one guy *cough* Carlie Villanueva *cough*.

what do you think?
"Shaqtastic. 24 points." "Where'd you get so many Q's?" (With a stern scary look) "Don't worry about it..."

I think Shaq is a terrible fit with Lebron..Lebron needs a couple *bigs* who can run the floor. The Cavs would win 8 straight championships if they'd listen to me. Run run run with LB..Amare fits in perfectly with my plan.

That doesnt get it done. Anderson and Delonte would likely be going to the Suns in any Amare deal.

Yeah losing Delonte is a No-No in my book unless we are getting back a comparable replacement, which would be difficult given his affordable contract.

Now if we are actually getting Amare back in return (which I doubt PHX would do) I would consider giving up Delonte just because a core of Mo/Amare/LBJ would be lethal.

I agree. If we're going to trade for a big man, let's get Amare. I still wouldn't want to give Delonte away, but at least this trade pays off.

What about a 3-way with Phoenix and Philly: http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachi ... eId=luwm54

Cavs get: Amare and Dalembert
Suns Get: Hickson, Pavlovic, Brand, Kinsey and Evans
Philly gets: Shaq, Wallace, Jackson, Cavs 1st round pick

Why it possibly makes sense:
Cavs get Amare -- 'nuff said
Suns get younger, cap relief, and Brand
Philly gets cap relief and possible trading chips for Brand and Dalembert

Sure, it'll never happen, but if the Suns want to unload Shaq and Amare, they might not do much better.

You all are crazy to think we'd want delonte west/ varejo and your garbage draft pick for an nba all star starter.

What a terrible trade for the Suns. The problem is that the Cavs just don't have anything to offer the Suns. They could get more than Verejao (who is a bum) and Delonte (solid, but not worth an all-star). I don't even think it makes sense for the Cavs to resign Verejao. You can sign Channing Frye for a lot less and he will give the exact same production as Verejao.

LOL. This isn't going to happen. Amare is a bonafide All Star.

Sorry,

suns will not consider any trades for Amare unless you are willing to part with Lebron.

You have a team full of scrubs w/ zero trade value.

Definitly Lebron needs someone that can run the floor and the Cavs need more height on that perimeter. I think Shaq is a good fit in terms of experience and his presence, but Amare would be a better choice ultimately.

PHX fans say "forget Ben Wallace go after LeBron!" c'mon now, look what players you're dumping to even try to get Shaq, nevertheless Amar'e. this is a worthless unrealistic thread.

If Amare stays with your squad I wouldn't give a squat where Delonte goes. I can't believe that you are gonna pull a deal off for someone like delonte west while you'll probably get a decent pg in the draft anyways.

Brilliant I would do this if i represented all three teams, no one gets screwed

Sign me up. Philly gets screwed on talent but they do well financially, dumping Dalembert AND Brand saves them huge $.

Someone other than Evans would have to be included on Philly's side because he was dealt already to TOR

There is no way in hell you can get Amar'e for that package. That's basically an extra pick + Hickson than the old package for Shaq, do you really think low balling that much is going to get you anywhere? Like someone said before, it would probably have to be Hickson + Varejao + West + 2 firsts basically to even get us thinking, and even though that's pretty fair value wise, I doubt we'd do it, because we wouldn't have a star player.

S&T Varejao, Hickson, Wallace, Pavlovic and two firsts is all I would do. The Suns would have to throw in a filler to make salaries match.

I guess the Suns will fold up their franchise while they are at it.
