I'll go with no. We still wouldn't have the interior D to hold down any of their Cs. Howard is one thing, but we've allowed Big Z and especially Kendrick Perkins look like AS's against us. (Maybe a little exaggeration, but Perkins has owned us and Big Z was able to do just about whatever he wanted to inside.) Until we can ensure that we can keep the opponents 3rd and 4th options from owning us, we won't be able to beat them in a 7 game series.

If Amar'e could ever regain the form he displayed from a few years back when he utterly dominated Duncan in a series then I'd say we'd be bout even with Boston, lil better than Orlando but would run roughshod over Cleveland's frontline.

neither of those trades will happen, wats the point of even speculating??
Is it to much to ask for a team that plays hard and cares? Seems so.

I would trade Smith before I trade Horford. You put Amare or Bosh next to Horford, and you have a much better inside presence. The salaries match up nicely for Amare if you send Speedy with Smith. They'd likely need more than that, at least the #19 pick, to get that deal done. Not sure that those two teams have enough of what the other wants to make it happen.

I don't think we'd beat the Cavs. We'd win a couple of games for sure though.

I don't know why people are so afraid of the Cav's frontline. Z may have impressive height but he's a finesse stiff(contradiction?) with no post game. Varejao is a pure hustle big with no real basketball skills. There's a reason that Orlando with it's one Center and 3 SFs were able to massacre that interior even though they had the same height and size disadvantages that we had. Z can't defend or score in the post and Andy is a non entity on the offensive end, that is why the possibility of an aging Shaq trade keeps getting brought up because he does what they both can't

Harry, I'm not understanding your question. Are you saying "if we trade Horford for one of those 2" or are you saying "if we pair Horford up with one of those 2?"
My mother told me, she said, "Elwood, to make it in this world you either have to be oh, so clever or oh, so pleasant." Well, for years I was clever; I recommend pleasant.
