It seems like most Boston fans are of the opinion that you trade Ray, Rondo or you trade them both. I'm on the side that I trade Ray as oppose to Rondo. You don't trade them both if you want to remain a contending team for next season.
The thing that Boston had in common with Detroit from recent years was that their starters remain together for several games. So, they'd that one advantage over other teams, chemistry. However, Dumars saw fit to begin the process of retooling that starting five. Letting B. Wallace go and, then eventually, trading Bilups. Ainge isn't in a drastic position and can hold off until after another season. But, if trading Ray's expiring contract helps you now, an option Detroit chose not to take advantage of with R. Wallace's expiring contract, you've to explore it. The Celtics are still a contending team. Conversely, the Piston seem to feel they've to rebuild. That stinks to be Hamilton and Prince.
Does trading Ray win us a chip during the 'window'?

The Celtics core is so good, that I trading any of them spells doom to me. The starting 5 are a perfect click. If the goal is to win another championship in next year or so, I wouldn't mess with the starting lineup.
