No not really. Not with the caliber of PG's we can get at 4 or 23.

Under 2 conditions.

1) Beno is gone.
2) He is the backup.

Beno has 0 trade value right now so there is no way we can trade him he has to be our backup PG. He is not a terrible PG just average and will probably play with more relaxed with a starter ahead of him. He did hit 1 game winner against LA which is the same as any of our other backups. He will be solid.
There is just too much talent at the #4 not to have a huge role next year.

I think Felton isn't what I'd consider a primary target, but I think that he's someone that Sacramento should consider as he's better than anyone that we currently have, and I don't see Beno as someone that would be prone to training someone to replace him.

Probably the best situation for a trade Beno scenario is the Kings draft Rubio, he stays in Europe next year, and Beno is our PG. He'll build his value if he is allowed to run the team. Once Salmons was out of the way he looked a lot better. Beno averaged 6 apg the last two months of the season.

Play Beno 38 mpg and I can see him putting up somewhere around 13-15 ppg, and 6 apg. He'll build value.

do you really want another year like last year?
i wanna at least double our wins and that still only puts us at 34, im not saying lets win now and pull a boston but i wanna at least enjoy watchin the kings play.
i also dont wanna draft rubio and have him sit out a year...whats the point of that cuz we'll end up with another top 5 pick and take john wall and then have a logjam at pg with 2 superstar potential pgs. no point

Raymond Felton's shooting percentages:

1st year- 39.1% FG/35.8% 3s
2nd year- 38.4% FG/33% 3s
3rd year- 41.3% FG/28% 3s
4th year- 40.8% FG/28.5% 3s

He is a sub 40% FG career shooter. I know, I know, Sam Vincent, former coach, placed him at the shooting guard position and inserted (McInnis?) at the point guard spot. That may cause his horrible percentages but come on now, those numbers are Crawford-esque. Heck look at his TS%:

1st year- 48%
2nd year- 48%
3rd year- 50%
4th year- 48%

If anything, I stay away from Felton unless he becomes an efficient PG or whatever.

believe me Im probably the least "Beno hater" fan on these boards. I think he is better than a lot of people give him credit for but I was just pointing out that one of the conditions in which to acquire Felton would have to mean Beno is gone.

I would rather us target Ramon Sessions than Felton, especially with the new head coach and the style we are gonna be playing

Want in one hand and sh*t in the other and see which fills up faster.

Seriously if this team improves in terms of their competitiveness, begin to show some signs of direction and system, and the young players take a step up like they should be able to, next year will be a success IMO. Whether that means a whole lot more wins, I don't know, but it could happen. The truth is we have a bit to go as far as value, talent, and the assets a team needs for success. A few years at the bottom is probably the reality here for awhile. We'll see what happens I guess.

Why not target Marvin Williams instead of a PG IF we go after a FA. Then draft 2 Pg's at 4 and 23/31 to fill out that need in a DEEP PG draft.

C: Hawes, Diogu?, Elson?
PF: Thompson, Nocioni, Thomas
SF: Williams, Greene
SG: Martin, Garcia, Jermaine Taylor(#31)
PG: Rubio/Evans(#4), Beno, Maynor(#23)

Maybe re-sign Ike to a sub QO offer of a million bucks next year and an ETO at the end of the season and add another vet. min FA Big to fill out the remaining roster

I honestly don't think he's that much better than Beno--especially if Beno can keep playing the way he was post-Salmons/Miller trade. It would be an improvement, but not enough of one to warrant lowering Beno's value even more (by making him a backup), and adding the extra salary. This is all magnified by the fact that we'll be likely drafting a PG.

So, no on Felton. And if we were going to go after a PG in FA, I would also definitely prefer Sessions.
