Re: Re-doing the 2008 NBA Draft
Goran Dragic, Kerr said he was the second best pg in the draft behind Rose and would have drafted him at #15 anyway if Lopez was gone

Re: Re-doing the 2008 NBA Draft
The Suns should have taken McGee (Even though I think Lopez will develop into a good player) and Miami should have taken OJ Mayo.
Dragic was a good pick in the 2nd round as he showed a lot of promise towards the end of the season, but I disagree with Kerr that he was the second best point guard in the draft.

There's no way Miami should've taken Mayo. They've already got a superstar at the 2. Beasley was a good choice for them.

Re: Re-doing the 2008 NBA Draft
Memphis has actually said they see Mayo as their PG in the future. The guy would have been the perfect compliment to Wade because he's a great shooter.
Plus, I am not a fan of Beasley in the NBA. I loved watching him in college, but Mayo is a better player.
- Better athlete
- Good defender
- Higher basketball IQ
Beasley is slow, un-athletic, undersized, and soft. I don't think he will ever be an All-Star. Mayo has superstar potential.
Riley wanted Mayo, but was talked into drafting Beasley.
I hope the Suns don't trade Amare for Beasley. He had a very disappointing rookie season.

Chalmers>McGee>Lee>Mbah Moute>Speights>Anderson>Lopez...
I still think we could have KILLED this season with a good draft
Obviously in retrospect, but we should have taken Mario Chalmers at #15, and moved up to get Mbah Moute
Shaq/Lou
Amare/Diaw/Mbah Moute
Hill/Barnes/Mbah Moute
Bell/Barbosa
Nash/Chalmers
ROCK SOLID...Chalmers would have been perfect
sigh

I was VERY impressed by Chalmers this year.
However, according to Kerr, Dragic is the 2nd best PG in the draft behind Derrick Rose.

I would switch it to Batum, McGee then Lee.
Chalmers was a studd too. He will be better than Dragic, you can quote me on that.

Re: Re-doing the 2008 NBA Draft
ohh, I like Joe Alexander too like SDU. I forgot about him. He reminds me of a Thunder Dan type of player.
So, I would have drafted Alexander at 15, and bought my way into the early second rd to pick Chalmers.
I change my vote from Batum to Alexander. He did not have a great year, but I see what this cat can do in the future. He is tough as nails, has good size and athletisim for a 6-8 guys. Good form on his shot and likes contact.

Thanks for voting all. Voting is still open for a little while.
By the way, SDU, that is an awesome avatar.

Mcgee pretty easily, followed by Speights. I still don't know why we picked Sideshow bob while we're trying to contend.
