TMac for RJef, Gadz and Bell

Post#1 » by SlideRuleJockey » Wed Jun 17, 2009 10:04 pm

Any interest?

Works for the Bucks to reduce Salary.

What are the Rox plans at the wing positions next year?

Yeah, I know, Gadz sux, but if you want RJef, you have to swallow hard on Gadz.

They both have two years left, and Gadz can eat some minutes behind Yao.

Bell is not a star, but he is not payed like one either.

No flaming please, just your thoughts on this.

Jefferson is a 3, and he is only slightly more capable, but still not adequate enough to play the 2, similarly to Artest and Battier.

Gadz is terrible, and overpaid, and not expiring, and Bell is merely bad, but also overpaid, and not expiring (i think).

Basically, I can see Redd/Gadz/#10 for Tmac/Barry. That's probably about as good as you are going to do.

OK, lets have you guys put together some deals.

Here are the parameters.........

You can have Redd or RJ (or both)

You have to take Gadz

Bucks will NOT give up a pick or LRMAM.

Bucks must send out more Salary than ROX.

Is this doable?

I don't think so. Sorry. Gadz is a deal breaker. And we want nothing to do with either Redd or RJ. I have more interest in Redd but considering that he just came off of a injury riddled season...

I know what you're thinking. TMac's INJURY WAS WORST!!! Lets be honest, u just want his expiring contract. Whether he plays or not is irrelevant at this point.

Yes Yes Yes....

All we are interested in is the expiring contract of T-Max.

I thought with his injury, you guys would be interested in aquiring one of our wings.

Heck, I would not even be opposed to buying out T-Max.

Yes, dumping Gadz is the carrot we would need.

If you think that T-Max will be able to contribute, and be a positive influence next year, then you should keep him. I had heard that the Rox front office had had it up to here with him, and was ready to move on. The Rox are a good team, and I thought with Artest gone, and T-Max burning his bridges (my perception), you would have interest in a decent SG/SF.

If we acquire Redd AND Gadz then we'll be in luxury hell for the next couple of years. We wouldn't be able to resign Artest, Scola, Lowry, Brooks etc. Resigning our own free agent is our priority. We're not interested in acquiring borderline all star that are already well pass their prime so we get screwed for how ever many years they have left on their contracts. I hope u understand our position.

If we can't deal Tmac for the right pieces. WE'll just let him and his 22million contract expire. No harm done.

Fair enough. Thanks for the input. Good luck against the Lakers next year. I hate them.

If these are the parameters, am I the only one who thinks something could be worked out here? Gadz has a horrible contract yes, but since we're already going to eat T-Mac's contract next year, Gadz only is 1 year past that at ~7m, where it would then be another expiring for us to play around with. Bell is a tradable contract IMO due to the low salary as well. Maybe Elson could be grabbed as the back-up if Gadz can't do it too. I think the biggest issue here is taking back more salary as that means numerous players as T-Mac is already making a whooping 22m.

But the point of this is that it fills the need for a scoring wing. I'm leaning toward Redd because he's more of a closer, but who knows how he's recovering. Also I don't know if either player puts us over the top into contention status, especially if we don't resign Artest. Still, I think this is probably the most feasible trade idea I've seen posted on these boards concerning T-Mac's contract so far and if it's actually out there something Morey should definitely consider.

thats a borderline good trade.

but w/ no tmac, the fronting defense will kill us, cuz tmac is the only passer who can beat it. we'd need to look for a pg after this trade.

i would do it only if houston were to trade for a pg in another trade, cuz the fronting defense is yao's kryptonite. and that will prolly turn us into a subpar .500 team.

lets do this trade. rjefferson is an awsome player with playoff experiences. rockets would have the best bench in the league. gadz and bell and go back to the dleague.

Return to Houston Rockets
