Seems Bibby will get about a 3 year $21M-$24M type deal. We can sign him? let him be signed by another team or go for a S&T. If he walks we get cap relief.
Bring Andersen over. Keep Zaza.
Nothing wrong with having four NBA quality bigs. There are enough minutes for all of them. Smoove slides to SG about 10 minutes a game, 22 at PF. Horf gets 26 at PF and 4 at C. Zaza and Andersen split the remaining 44.
Sign Marvin and somebody P him off until he picks up the intensity. Time to take the kid gloves off. I also like his improved D and shot. If he can really start to heat up the shooting, he could be huge for us.
Look to re-sign JJ. He's very good, he's a Hawk and I think he'll sign for a bit less than most are thinking. not so much the home team discount, more economic reality.
Flip played well in Woodson's system as mini JJ in the iso role. I don't sign him. He got released as a minimum cost player from DET, a very team orientated group.
Law / Speedy could be minor trade pieces, but keeping Speedy's expiring will help a lot with JJ's contract. I also think keeping Law is the way to go.
We need a PG. With the FA route we can target someone like Felton who will get less than Bibby.
Draft: #19 T. Williams and #49 a PG/SG type.
Horford / Andersen / Zaza
Smoove / Horf / Hunter
MW / Mo
JJ / Williams
Felton / Law / #49

1. Andersen isn't leaving Denver unless someone offers him well above the MLE.
2. Letting Bibby go doesn't create cap space.

I don't think we can bring Andersen over for what he wants and give Felton a contract that the Bobcats won't match.

I don't think the math works out. In order to get Andersen over for Europe I think part of the MLE would have to be tapped (we know he isn't coming for the minimum). That means in order to get Felton we'd have to work out a sign & trade. The only asset you don't have listed is Speedy's contract, but Carolina has no incentive to do the deal for that. Given their financial situation they would rather let him walk. For Bibby to be the S&T they would have to mutually want it which is unlikely.
The type of player we should be able to obtain for Speedy is one with 2 or more years on their deal at roughly that 4-6M range. That was the acquiring team saves money. Another possibility would be a player making below 6.6M and expiring that way they still get some savings (possibly more if insurance pays part of it). Other than that he has no value.
In free agency, short of renouncing everyone we only the MLE to play with. That means the best we could offer players like Marcin Gortat, Ramon Sessions, Raymond Felton is the full MLE. That likely means no Flip. If we retain Flip he would take part of the MLE or as I think is more likely he will get offered the BAE of 1.9M per year for 2 years. I'm not sure he'll take it, but it is the only real way to keep him without calling it a day in free agency. To sign David Andersen it would also require part of the MLE. Possibly Andersen and Flip could share the MLE and both get done. The thing to realize is that these are exclusive of each other. If we go after Felton with the MLE, bye to Flip, Andersen, and any other free agents from other teams. The other key is that the sum of all contracts are very unlikely to exceed the luxury tax. If we don't turn Speedy into an asset then his 5.2M will likely prevent us from using the whole MLE.
