ESPN Radio: Bobcats and Mavs?

Post#1 » by BigSlam » Wed Jun 17, 2009 11:37 pm

A rumored trade discussion that consists of:

Josh Howard, Jerry Stackhouse and a filler(Shawne Williams?)
for
Nazr Mohammed, Gerald Wallace and Charlottes #12 pick.

????

Did anyone hear anything about it?

No, but I wish I could've kept it that way.

Why the filler? We'd be adding 1.4 million as is according to the trade machine. I know Stack can be bought out, but still.

I'd hate this trade even without the pick.

We shouldn't trade for Diop - it attracted all those pipedreaming fans from Dallas. Now they would want everyone from our roster except Diop.

I hope this thread is just because Slam started drinking too early after the Professor Paydro bit.

This is bad even without us giving up #12. To add that also, that is just sick. The entire FO should just quit if they do something like that because fans wont come to see a team that choses to regress when they finally start getting OK.

Maybe he's smoking that Josh Howard stuff.

That is my asking price

I'll even throw in Barea as their Raymond Felton replacement since he may not re-sign.

I really don't think Howard is that much worse than Wallace, and the salary savings would more than make up for that difference. Hence, adding the #12. I can understand why Cats fans wouldn't want to do it, but I don't think it's terribly one-sided. If I'm Cuban, I wouldn't touch that deal because I'd be adding a ton of salary and probably wouldn't see a significant on-court improvement anytime soon. Cats fans probably decline for the same reasons, though it would give you a ton of flexibility in 2010.

I guarantee you that the mavs generated those rumors. If we're dumping anyone for salary relief its Okafor and that deal will not be incredibly one-sided. Nazr will not be packaged with the 12th pick for a salary dump, he's only got 2 more years on his contract then he's done. Just keep him around 1 more season and he'll suddenly have positive value. I will be veryyyyyyyy pissed if we traded Nazr+ the 12th.

For god's sake, why should we do this?

Wallace >>>>Howard
Nazr >>>> Stack
#12 >>>> Filler

This is BS.

^ How exactly am I "pipedreaming" if I'm suggesting my owner turn down the deal?

I laugh at you thinking some superstar is coming to charlotte in 2010...we may as well keep the salaries

No it's true!

Lebron, Bosh and Amare are just itching to come to a big media market like Charlotte, if only we can clear some salary....

I give up. I don't think anyone who's responded to my post actually read it. Good luck.

You all are crazy if you think that crapfest of a trade favors Dallas

Howard is better than Wallace
Stackhouse's 2 million buyout is much much much better than Nazr and his horrid contract

12th pick is this draft is worthless
