Bucks fan. Feel free to pan, accept or suggest modifications.

I can see a scenario where Evans falls to #10. Our owner being a US Senator tends to avoid guys with any sort of legal trouble in their past.

Would you consider using your cap space and trading 18/28/Craig Smith (or Telfair) for 10/Ridnour?

Of course. But the chances of Evans falling to ten are probably slim to none.

I've always been vocal about not liking Evans, but at that kind of value, I don't think any of us could say no. I'd probably do it even if Evans wasn't there.

Agreed, although the principle still works depending on who's there at 10. If we haven't made some move into the top 3-4, and pick say Holiday at 6, I might like a move up to 10 to grab Clark, or DeRozan if he fell.

If we don't trade 18 and/or 28 in another deal, I'd expect us to try and package them to move up to get someone we want; maybe Clark or whichever PG starts to slide.

I'm glad there is some interest because if I were our GM, and if Evans were there at 10 I'd want to do that deal with you guys because it solves our luxury tax problem ($4mm net savings), gets us a bench body who can bang (Smith) and we can hope one of the guys at either 18/28 can contribute.

That said, there are a bunch of guys on our board who would riot of Evans drops and we didn't pick him with 10.

From your perspective you could double down on versatile guards and get Curry and Evans or take one of those two plus a big in Hill if he slides.

Picking Hill would depend on whether we traded Love to move up and don't take Thabeet.

we don't have 4 million in cap room. On the '09-10 year (post july 1) we will have less than 3 million in cap room with our draft pick tenders. we'll have about the same room with 10 as with 18+28, so it is hard for us to directly create that much room for you without expanding the deal to 15 million or so per side (because 125% matching can't be combined with existing cap space, if you're over you're over).

We could do telfair+madsen (4.5 million) +28 + future utah pick for ridnour + 10 .

We could easily do future space for you. gadzuric+10 for cardinal+18.

Evans, Clark, and Derozan are all guys I'd trade up for.

Legal trouble? ;-)

Only guy from Milwaukee that I'd want is Ridnour because of his expiring. No thanks on anyone else. So the trade would have to be Telfair+Madsen+#18 for Ridnour+#10.

No way Evans falls to #10, but I'd be happy with Earl Clark there.

Quite a bit of interest, but with the financial concerns of the Bucks, I would hope MN would be inclined to not trade both the later first rounders. I know, probably being greedy, but would not want to part with both assets if not necessary. I don't think it should be with helping Mil. stay under the Lux Tax.

No no no. Excuse some of us. If I can speak for myself if not all or most Bucks fans, we don't want an undersized tweener foward in Craig Smith. I am not here to contradict anything my esteemed fellow fans says, but Criag Smith is not the guy you want looking at the T'Wolves roster!

Give him a break. You don't consider him nor Mike Miller. I would think the Bucks would discuss anyone else.

I have no idea why his name is even bandied about on our board. He serves us absolutely no purpose whatsoever. Craig does not excite me nor elevate our talent level. He is an unsung grunt type player
and that is good for got him in the league. But that does not help us.

We NEED SIZE or mobile, long on the ball defenders who are in shape and who can move laterally. Skiles hates guys who are out of shape and put on weight. Most of our posters should know that with how he butted heads with Eddy Curry in Chicago.

I say Luke Ridnour and #10 for Corey Brewer and or Telfair and #18 and or #28.

Not Craig Smith. We already have Luc Richard who has the garbage role Smith would play here. I like your wings and that is what we need.

If you are going to bring in Evans you dont or won't use Brewer who is wasting away his confidence on your bench. We need him to back up Redd and Jefferson! If not him, I love Carney's athleticsim and shot and you still got Gomes.

I am a Bucks fans who wants no part of Craig Smith. Good play but does not serve a need for us at all.

I think many of us would go for this deal even if Evans is gone.

Fair points for most of your post as far as fit go, but this bolded one is not accurate (in reference to Smith's conditioning, not Skiles' opinions). Smith is a very thick, very strong player, but to say he's out of shape is not an accurate statement. To compare his conditioning to Eddy Curry is downright insulting to him. He was carrying some chub his rookie season, but even then he was not necessarily out of shape, and CERTAINLY not comparable to Eddy Curry. Since then, Smith has "slimmed" down to a more chiseled physique while retaining his terrific strength. He's remarkably quick as well and likes to take his man off a couple dribbles to the basket and hit a soft floater in the lane, which he is outstanding at.

Craig Smith is a beast. Dude's quick as a cat and in pretty good shape. If he had an outside shot he could get minutes at the 3 potentially.

We don't have the $4.5 mil in cap space to make this trade under CBA cap-matching rules.

EDIT: Whoops - I should read more than just the first half of the page before posting .. youngguns had this covered.

To be honest, if you wanted this much raw caps space for the #10, its not a very fair deal to want the two picks and Craig Smith in addition. Even the poster seems to realize that for the #10 to have much value, a fluke needs to happen for a prospect with a little value to be available at the #10.

Bucks fans .. please look back over the last recent pages in the MIN forum, and you'll see several possible deals that get MIL cap space in exchange for the #10.
