Hey Hawks fans, would you do this trade?

Raptors fan here, just wondering if you guys would pull the trigger on this considering Josh Smith might be dealt.

Hawks receive:
Kris Humphries
9th overall draft pick

Raptors receive:
Josh Smith
19th overall draft pick

The hawks would be cutting salary and moving up in the draft, and getting a guy who I think hasn't reached his peak yet. Raptors get much needed toughness and don't lose a spot in the draft, although they would have no cap room after this.

I wouldn't consider it to be honest. That's basically a salary dump.

Both teams are over the cap for the current year, so this isn't even a remote possibility. And looking at both teams for 09-10, it wouldn't be one even after the new cap is announced in July.

no.

No real sure thing talent in return. Pick could easily be a bust, Humphries already is.

This is a garbage trade. A secondary star + a mediocre pick for a garbage player and a slightly better mediocre pick? There's no reason the Hawks would ever take this trade, especially in this weak draft, just to move up 10 spots from 19.

Josh Smith + 19

for

Andris Beadrins + marco belineli

josh smith would be good in a fast paced environment + his Defense would help that team.

this is a sickening homer trade........ Raps would be lucky to get a straight up Bosh for Smith trade.

it is basically a #9 in a really weak draft for the Hawks' most important player.

I'd strongly consider it but I doubt GS would...doesn't seem like they need another PF just from looking at their roster.

Humphries? Seriously? Last I checked BK is gone so I don't think we have to worry about anything like this going down.

So Kris Humphries has replaced Joey Graham as the player that Raptor fans suggest in unrealistic trade scenarios. Good to know.

Haha, I personally think that Kris could turn into an all-star someday, but that's just my opinion. Would you guys do it without your pick involved?

Hmmm. Humphries has been in the league 5 years. While it is possible that he's a late bloomer I would think he'd be able to get more than 13 minutes a game. Josh Smith is almost a year younger and a lot more productive. Don't need the savings that much.

I like the 9th pick because I like Jonny Flynn, but I wouldn't give up Josh to get there.

The reason he only had 13 minutes was because:
A) Sam Mitchell was the coach at the time, terrible coach btw
B) There was a logjam at PF

He played only 29 games this year, and averaged 9.1 mpg. He wasn't ever particularly efficient. At best he's an energy role player, and is no way even close to Josh Smith. Heck, he's not even close to Zaza.

If the Hawks took this trade, Rick Sund would deserve to be hung.

And if Humphries came to Atlanta....he would still be in a logjam behind Horford. If this is the case can we say we can trade Acie and 19 and get a good young player because Acie hasn't had the mpg?

It might not even be a reach to say that Law is better than the #9.

As for the original post; even if you remove the #19; NO DEAL.

Hey played 29 games because he was injured most of the year.

Which makes us want him so much more, right?

I wouldn't take Kris Humphries for free, much less give anything for him.

What about Kris and a future 2nd for Josh Smith? Then Atlanta wouldn't have to include their 1st rounder.
