Hell no... Is that dude crazy...???
And wth is everyone STILL thinkin we want to cut salary when it has been made abundently clear that we will pay the tax if nessecary...???
Even if we didn't want to pay, we sure as hell wouldn't be trading Butler... He's on a very good contract for us... Jamison would probably be the one on his way out...

Re: Thoughts on Marvin Willliams?
I think my IQ dropped 5 points from reading that article. The guy starts his blog entry by ripping Marvin Williams, then says the Hawks should trade him for Butler. Why would the Wizards do this? Because they're looking to cut salary, says the writer. Except the Wizards aren't in cost-cutting mode -- they're in "upgrade the roster" mode. Now, if it was the pick and filler for Williams, then it's something that might make sense for the Wiz.
Of course all of this ignores all the BYC, last year of contract, and whatever other rules league and player association rules made up so that they could have jobs interpreting them.

I actually laughed out loud just reading the article title. Insanity.

Re: Thoughts on Marvin Willliams?
marvin williams is a hands down better perimeter defender than Butler but this board doesn't value defense which is why we have close to the worst defensive starting four in the eastern conference and Haywood isn't all nba defensive either. just like management which is why we are close the worst defensive team for last few years.
Build your team w/5 shooters using P. Pierce Form deeply bent hips and lower back arch at same time b4 rising into shot. Elbow never pointing to the ground! Good teams have an engine player that shoot volume (2000 full season) at 50 percent.Large Hands

Possibly Acie Law for Crittenton, but the Bulter for Marvin Williams does not make a lot of sense.

Re: Thoughts on Marvin Willliams?
the guy is panicking because he realizes that Marvin is going to sign the 1 year tender and no other team has the capspace to sign marvin to a big contract. That basically means Marvin is going to be free agent in year and Atlanta won't get any value for him. His salary this year is 7.3 million which is way above the MLE and their are plenty of players on the market that are better than williams that can be had for less that what marvin williams tender offer is. Trevor Ariza, Lamar Odom, and Hedo Turk just to mention a few.

Marvin Williams for Caron Butler? You've got to be kidding me. If this happens, I might stop watching Wizards games altogether.
At first all I saw was the idea of Marvin Williams. I wasn't crazy about it at first, but then I saw that it was talking about Butler for Williams. I honestly did lol.

Re: Thoughts on Marvin Willliams?
If the Wizards could make trades as lopsided as that in reverse:
Trade Arenas for Chris Paul
Trade Jamison for Stoudamire
Trade Butler for Joe Johnson
Trade Blatche for Ginobili
