Now we know what game to buy. It sucks though because I grew up playing NBA Live.

I crossed over to 2k for the first time ever this year after much research NBA 2K9 it's a 9/10 game, it's beatiful, gameplay is very good, animations player movement is 9/10, but the shooting mechanism took a while to get down, after being NBA Live since near inception, even now that I have it down I much prefer NBA Live setup, menus, online play cooler peeps online as well, but they just don't have the animations or the gameplay down like they should. I'm hoping I can go back to NBA Live next year, I just sold 2k9 for $20 anticipating next years, but of course now 2k gets Kobe now, F!

^^^yea, I'm a Live fan as well. Only time I actually switched over to 2K (before next year's Kobe edition haha) was 2k6...oddly enough when shaq was on the cover lol.

I know I'm getting 2K10, but I'm downloading the 2k9 demos only because I can't decide whether or not to go PS3 (like I did for Live 09), or continue with the 360.

I stopped messing with live in 99. I've been with 2k since Dreamcast and now with it on 360.

It's not a joke, it has a lot of things more right than 2k, but the most important things such as gameplay and indiv player animations 2k kills Live.

Take the huge numbers of fans, the gameplay, the individual player animations, the graphics, fix the whack goaltending glitch, and throw it all into what live has, better cut scenes, menus, online play, setup and it would be a near perfect game.

Live has the better graphics that the players' faces really do look real but 2k has the better game play. I'm looking to get both of games 'cause I know it will have improvement in both, though.

I left NBA Live alone a long time ago, been doing 2K's for the whole decade now. It's a way better game.

same with me. bought live 06 and 2k6 same time couple yrs back...was much more satisfied with 2k6 than i was with live. been with 2k ever since

agreed. nba 2k has proven to be the more playable option. also its revolutionary 5 v 5 online mode is a lot of underrated fun :wink:

haha Live 06 was, in my opinion, THE worst installment of Live. So many things went wrong with that one. Live 07 is a close second as well. haha kinda feel bad that that was the year you compared the two. I honestly had the most fun with Live 03 (kidd on the cover) Freestyle control FTW!
