If I'm sending a comment, will he really read it ?

No. I have sent him at least three comments over the years -- two compliments, one complaint -- and he didn't respond to any. I imagine he gets thousands of e-mails per week.

I did get a response one time from L.A. Times columnist T.J. Simers. I called him a joyless douche, and he wrote back to brag that he had just gotten a raise. I told him it was more proof that schtick wins out over substance in America, and I never heard back.

all i can say is enjoy the hate fella's. we are the champs and when you are the champs you get trolls like blazerfalling and simmons feeling insecure so they have to come up with bull. i have always said and will continue to say that stats mean nothing! kobe has grown from last year to this year. he is more welcoming to guys. yeah he was a great teammate last year but this year they really seemed close everyone from kobe down to shannon brown...
Only on realgm is 27,000 points, 5 rings, 1 rs mvp and 2 finals mvp considered overrated!

Reed, from the Purple and Gold Blog has the best response to Simmons and explanation for Kobe that I've read at anytime in my life.

Bill Simmons has said time and time again, like many other fans, that Kobe had an incredible impact on his teammates on the gold medal olympic team. Which explained why guys like Wade, Lebron, Melo, Howard, etc. all had career type years. They saw the level of dedication that it took to win in this league and they followed the blue print. Well, as Reed so eloquently asks ... why does it suddenly surprise Simmons that Kobe might actually have that effect on his actual teammates too??? He's right, Kobe hasn't changed in one year. But he has changed his teammates into championship-hungry assassins because his work ethic and will to win are infectious.

THAT is what makes him Jordan-like. Not just that he brings it every night. But that he, more than any point guard, Lebron, coach in the NBA ... makes his teammates significantly better than they were before they played with him. Lebron could throw 5000 no-look passes and it still wouldn't add up to what Kobe does for his teammates in the offseason, practice and on the floor. Period.

By the way ... Blazer Fan ... you must get real joy out of Simmons all-out agenda driven attack to bury Greg Oden just so his Kevin Durant call comes to complete fruition. Which, just for the record, might be the only call he's had in the last 5 years that was actually correct ... which is partially why he will never let his readers forget it. Especially after going less than .500 in NFL picks, losing to his wife, practically going 0'fer in the NBA playoffs picks, etc. It's pretty sad ... he's basically Mush 2.0
