Post#1 » by diggity_88 » Fri Jun 19, 2009 10:47 pm

I was just wondering how his defense is?

Man on man situations

Against stronger guys

Against quicker guys

Help D situations

Defensive awareness

I havent seen enough to evaluate his game, so I was hoping you guys could help me out

Bad

poor

terrible

terrible

horrible

none

But he's a load on offense in the low post and a good rebounder at both ends of the court.

I wanted to keep it going, but I learned the hard way that you can only have 3 quotes at a time. :banghead:

So far this summer there have been rumors of Hinrich for 6 and Al/6 for Amare. Both times there were fans from the other team that thought the deal was fair and some that even wouldn't do it. So yes we are protective of people trying to gauge the value of Al. If you weren't going to propose a trade after hearing what we said and in fact did just want to know about the progess of his game maybe you should have tried watching him play last season. And you got your answers, so why are you complaining?

Because I don't have the NBA package, or live in a city where Basketball is that huge (plus no offense but who really wanted to watch minny last year as opposed to the big names in the league) so clearly i wasnt able to thats why im asking.

He's OK in man-to-man but he lacks lateral quickness and the defensive awareness so he's bad against quicker guys and help D. He is a good rebounder and a decent shot blocker, though. I think his definition of defense is wearing his opponent down on the offensive end.

I am guessing you have the internet. Why not watch a game on one of the many sites that stream them? But since you don't think the Wolves are worth watching you are going to have a hard time figuring out how Al has progressed. Normally asking fans opinions of players on their favorite team is not a good way to find out unbiased info. But we have some posters that are quick to point out flaws in the players (much like the Bucks board). If this is how you find info about players I am guessing you think Anthony Randolph is the next Magic, Beasley will average 30/15, and Hinrich is worth his contract.

Seriously, wtf? did you just hit menopause or something? I was just curious to get some info on the guy because I only see him twice a year, which is hardly enough to make a good evaluation. By the time I got interested in him he got injured.

No, I dont take everything into account, just wanted to get a feel for his defensive game. So I thought mature fans of certain teams would be able to provide some insight on that. As oppose to you, who add nothing of value to the thread.

 Yep, I am the immature one.

By the time I got interested in him he got injured.

If you weren't interested in him until around the time he got injured how do you expect him to have progressed since then?

Because I watched some games of him in Boston, and first year in Minny. Just because I wasnt interested in him doesn't mean I didn't know how his game was(besides the details..as such of what im asking now). Then all of a sudden he blew up this year, and wanted to see if it was just all Offense, or if he made strides on his D. Its not that hard to comprehend, you dont have to be so difficult about it.
