sac/mem

Post#1 » by clank » Thu Jun 18, 2009 7:39 pm

As a kings fan, I might consider this. Would memphis??
martin\thomas\#31 for Milicik\jaric\#2

We then control our on future with Rubio & harden, have a servicable bigman to add to rotation. Am I off my rocker?

If the trade to #2 is priced as to we would need to give up jt w/ #4, I would rather do this...

thoughts?

If we were hesitate to give up Thompson + #4 for #2/Jaric, why would we do this with Martin plus a large EC?

No way we would do this with Martin. The idea was to pair up Rubio with Martin.

No not really. Well, having both high lotto picks is nice but it is simply unrealistic to trade a proven talent in Martin for an unknown in Rubio. You simply do not see that every day. Heck, in the Kings camp, we are still have doubts in Rubio.

well in the "fans camp" I say we need a big change....off guards are easier to comeby than quality points. its all a crapshoot.
Now as a fan I am not sure I would do this trade but I also think its worth talking about. I love martins game but he is not irreplacable...

Poor deal. I'd really rather have Martin and K9's exp than Harden and Jaric's poor contract.

I would trade Kmart for Rubio because his 20/10 would be worth more than a Martin 20pts a game. Don't doubt Rubio he lead a far less talented team to 2nd in the world at 17, which is as impressive as Flynn and Evans leading their teams in the NCAA tourney and Holiday who lead his team to 2 Cali HS titles. He would be worth it. I think we would have to trade Martin and the #4 for Rubio.

I agree with LIGHTNING STRIKE here this would be a bad trade for the KINGS if we were to trade KMART (wich i doubt ) there would be no need for us to take bad contracts back in return & give up k9's now valuable expiring even if it means getting #2 pick while keeping the # 4 pick also.

MARTIN concerns me a bit now with his foot problems but not yet to the point of making this bad deal !

IF we traded KMART to the grizz while keeping our # 4 and getting the # 2 pick i would not take bad contracts i would demand we either let the grizz know they must put rudy gay ,or conley in the deal .(so i assume the would prefer to deal conely between the 2)

I would seriously doubt k9's contract could be added as between KMART & K9'S contracts would be way to high than what we would take back.

I would offer the grizz something like they trade us the # 2 & Conely for either GARCIA OR NOCIANI +K9 .
I seriously doubt the GRIZZ bite though so i think the deal i suggested would be out of the ?

Milicek (maybe because an expiring as he sucks ! ) Jaric i dont want him or his contract anywheres near our team getting him in the deal is not woth giving up k-mart even if we did get the # 2 pick !

By the way is their any reliable source that would show this is even seriously being discussed ?
Or are we speaking hypatheticals and talking out are @sses ?

I'd rather have Harden or Rubio alongside Martin than eachother. Both are effective with the ball, and Martin is better without. If Rubio would have a problem playing alongside Westbrook (and vice versa) he wouldn't want to play alongside Harden either. Harden could make it work but then you aren't getting the best of his numerous abilities. Just not a complimentary duo IMO.

I agree that Evans would be a terrible fit with Rubio, but not so much Harden. You can have more than one playmaker in at a time--in fact you usually need that. Harden can be pretty much equally successful in most situations IMO. I agree that the fits not as good as with Kevin, but I think it's complimentary enough.

As much as I would like to see Rubio here, I would NEVER do the pick swap deal - we give WAY too much. The second would be tough as well, because you are essentially saying that we are willing to take a step back and have two high rookie picks on the roster next year. Does this mean that we are ALREADY throwing in the towel on 2010 and 2011? I don't like that very much as a fan and I don't see Petrie/Maloofs going for it. This isn't Memphis or Clipperland where there aren't any expectations.
