Portland and Outlaw........

Post#1 » by Kefa461 » Sat Jun 20, 2009 3:14 pm

If this is true......I would jump on this in a heartbeat for the bench.....

The Portland Trailblazers would like to dump Travis Outlaw ($4 million next year) and their pick and clear some additional space to make a run at Hedo Turkoglu. The Celtics are over the cap, so they can't help Portland dump salary this season. However, Ainge has long been rumored to be a fan of Outlaw and there's always a 3 team deal option.

ps....that's the 24th pick.

Now here's an Aingey kind of move--- get a solid SF backup and a late first pick without giving up too much. And Portland can't use all the picks and players they already have; getting a big vet like Turk who can spread the floor puts them up a notch. Any ideas on third team participant?

Count me in on wanting outlaw here, I love his game and think he'd be the perfect fit. He's big enough to cover perimeter pf's too ;).

Not sure they can do this, but Scals, Pruitt and a future #1 for Outlaw, Rodriguez and the Portland #1. Portland can decline Pruitt's team option and save about $2.5 million to offer Turk..

If ainge does this, I can see the masses settling down and letting danny go to work. That should be the real spike lee movie, Danny doing work.

I posted a thread about Outlaw for Baby earlier this summer, but in any event I think Outlaw would be a tremendous addition to the bench. A true 6th man who answers the call as our long backup 3.

You guys do realize this is BS. Outlaw has an unguaranteed year left on his contract. Portland can just cut him before June 30th. Same with Blake. Portland can cut either and save $4 mil, or both and save $8+ mil.

Portland may look at dealing Outlaw for a future first rounder, the 24th pick for a future first rounder as well. They could be interested in Big Baby if he is available, but would not want extra salary back. Again, I would say the whole rumor is BS.

Between Blake and Outlaw who do you think is more likely to get cut?
