Man, conversations between the Dallas and Charlotte board always turn ugly.

The conversation about Howard vs. Wallace is just pointless to me. I see absolutely no legitimate basketball reason to build a trade around the two of them ... they play the same position and are generally viewed as good 2 way players that both are borderline all-star caliber players. Swapping them doesn't take either team to the 'next level'. Comparisons between them always deteriorate into homerism. On both sides.

The other asset you have that we want is Okafur (although not everyone on the Mavs board agrees. Go figure), but we've got nothing in return that would make you bite.

So why the fight breaks out between us is confusing. We're probably just not good trade partners.

Of course, that probably means that something will happen ...

I wouldn't want to terminate either of their contracts. They are good players, and they make a reasonable amount of money.

Does Mohammed's deal end this upcoming season, or the one after that? Different sites says he there are different options on his contract, which affect when it actually ends. I don't know if the team has the option, or the player.

Pretty sure it's a player option.

That's the thing; folks always throw out when a player's contract ends...but that's pretty much the reverse of what they're trying to sell if you actually WANT to retain the player at a good salary. Crash absolutely falls in that category.

An idiot would also know that Stack can be bought out for 2 million, Wallace had 4 concussions and no playoff experience and Nazr is one of the overall worst players in the NBA, so yeah idiot is fitting.

Not good, any trade where Dal gets Nazr is bad. Guys, I never said Gerald was bad, he's a terrific player and though I don't know either personally, I can assume he's a better person than Howard, who I think is a fool. But the fact is, Howard is no slouch of a player, he's not a bad defender at all and good on the offensive side, the problem with the trade as I mentioned is Nazr, the pick wouldn't help Dallas much because the only players Dal has an eye on that they can't get at 22 are Harden and Hill, neither will fall to 12.

You said Josh Howard is better than Gerlad Wallace. How could we take you serious then.

Crash >> Howard
12th pick >>> filler
Nazr < Stackhouse (but that does't change the outcome)

I could write down much more but you're not worthy. I just found it funny that once we got above the salary cap people like Mavs fans suddenly know we need to and should dump contracts at all costs and start major rebuilding (after being criticize for being cheap and under cap, including years where we had some salary restriction as an expansion team). No one said anything about dumping salary and lobsided trades to the Mavs, at least i didn't. Let's see who you guys pick at 12 and see if that person becomes anything than I'll admit defeat. Gerald Wallace is not better than Josh Howard, if anything they are equal, and a late lottery pick isn't worth trading equal for Nazr.

IMO, Wallace is better than Howard, and I would definitely take him on my team over Howard, but some of you fan-boys are ridiculous.

BTW, I don't think Nazr is as useless as people make him out to be. I will take last season's Nazr over this season's Gana anyday! Apparently, both are working hard this offseason so, we'll see improvements. Stackhouse, if healthy, isn't useless, either.

Talent-wise, this trade does favor Dallas. That 12th pick could yield the legitimate starting shooting guard the Mavericks have been missing, and could obviously bring us help. Take out the 12th pick, and I think it's a wash.

The only way Charlotte does this trade is if they want to dump salary and at some point it seems to be headed that direction. Jerry Stackhouse can be a salary dump and only two million is guaranteed.

If you did this trade what does it mean for Josh Howard? Do you move him to gain value for the future, accept his team option after next season, or do you not accept his player option?

If Shawne Williams is the filler you must be warned that the guy seems to have some personal issues. He was hidden all season and the two excuses ended up being injuries and personal issues. Overall, he is full of talent, but I would be concerned.
