In regards to KnicksMetsJetsNova's post, strong strong evidence. Yet I still maintain that his underwhelming field goal percentage and his less than stellar numbers against above average defensive teams (particularly fg%) are things to be concerned. You say that they will not trade him. I hope so, too, at least not to the Wizards.

Maybe inflated is the wrong word. My point is that he wouldn't get the 12+ shots per game in DC that he got in NY. He'd be the fourth option at best on this team, and probably would play half the minutes he got last year.

An upgrade from his 11 PER the year before.
He played alright - but lets not get carried away.
These posts reflect my concerns more accurately. Yeah Chandler averaged 14+ ppg but he needed almost 13 shots per game to do it. He's not an efficient scorer. So yeah, he can score if he puts up enough shots. But since, as I already said, he wouldn't be getting those shots in DC, we wouldn't be getting a 14ppg game guy in return for the 5th pick. It would be more like an 8ppg guy and we've already got guys who can do that.
So his value to us is less than what his value is to the Knicks, thus our notion that the #8 would need to be included. But as has already been said, the deal isn't happening so the discussion is moot.

My point is, he's probably overrated by this particular Knicks fan. And Rico is right, we don't need Chandler. We don't need another 2/3 who shoots that many shots. I'd take my chances with a prospect who would not be up for an extension.

Incredible. Knicks fans never cease to amaze me. You guys can take the most non-descript, 2nd rate player and turn into a future all-star. Chandler isn't worth the 5th pick. Hell, he's not worth the 15th pick. Frankly he's not worth the 5th pick when you throw in the 8th pick too. Chandler hasn't accomplished a damn thing in this league. He's a below average offensive player who put up empty numbers in a system that inflates player's stats.
Next thing you guys will saying is the Gallinari is the 2nd coming of Dirk Nowitzki.

Re: Wilson Chandler for are pick
I think saunders is a pretty good judge of talent. Obviosly we need perimeter defense. Best person is clarke and if no clark then evans. If management thinks mullens has the strenghten, has a high motor and is an above average rebounder, then we make the trade so that someone can challenge caron's tough juice label in practice. I would highly upset not getting clark but dominant offensive big with high motor and can defensive rebound outside his area and hold his position is rare.
So to recap, getting clarke is the number one priority. Chandler and caron are bench players compared to clarke. but he is no where near the level of clarke. If we can't get clarke we get evans and evans will be gone at 8. No need to get clarke and chandler unless u plan on getting rid of butler this offseason very good move. In other words chandler isn't really that special but neither is caron.
Clarke is a second team all nba defense, chandler is tough version of caron with slightly better defense.
Mullens works well because he is strong enough to hold his psoition in the paint and finsih strong with all of gils assist. Gil loves dribbling in paint and mullens is perfect with his hands and ability to maintain post position for gil. So mullens plus chandler minus caron is good is best alterntaive. If we can transform butler into a pick wow. Javale and blatche don't like earning their points close to the rim, mullens lives in paint. 2nd best is Clarke and evans are only possible alternatives in this draft.

Build your team w/5 shooters using P. Pierce Form deeply bent hips and lower back arch at same time b4 rising into shot. Elbow never pointing to the ground! Good teams have an engine player that shoot volume (2000 full season) at 50 percent.Large Hands

It would have to be #5+filler for Chandler+#8 but that's definitely not my first choice of offseason moves.
Just hold onto him and watch him blossom into a very good player. His efficiency went up after the all-star break.

It's gotta be from watching the likes of O-face and Balkman over the years. In comparison, Chandler's offensive skills must have looked... brilliant! If Dom's shooting merely becomes adequate, he's as good as Chandler. I'd take my chances on Dom 10 out of 10 times and twice that on Sundays - rather than trading the 5th pick and filler for Chandler.

How does a Knicks fan get a worthless thread going on the Wizards board. He posted this in another thread.
No one wants your scrub for the 5th and 8th swap.
Another tweener, NO and he's a bench player on our roster. You suggest a bench player for our 5th pick.

Re: Wilson Chandler for are pick
if Curry, Harden, Evens are still on the board when we pick i would do this trade
Wilson + 8th
for
our 5th
we would be guaranteed one of Curry, Harden, Evens .... and land a good player that could blossom into a Caron Butler type of steal
if Amari Bosh trade dont pop up then this could be a nice alternative ... make them swap Etan Mike for Hughes contract it would be easier to use at the trade deadline plus Chandler could be good trade value at the deadline too and we still would draft a player we would of drafted anyways
but im hoping for Amari right now ...... if not then Bosh at the trade deadline

My bad on TrueWizardsFan with 37 posts, LOL. You two had the same idea - SHOCKER.
As for you Donkey, when you get something worth wile to trade come back. I know it's hard for you to find solutions to the Wizards problems but giving us a tweener and then we have to take on filler DOES NOTHING, NOTHING!!!!!!!!!!!
Did you even think this through or did you just type what was on you mind.
Great minds think alike.

Re: Wilson Chandler for are pick
My take would be different. I would jump at Wilson and the Knicks' 2010 (but it must be unprotected) pick. And I would add incentives (such as Crit or Opec). That's what I would ask for from the Knicks. This is a move EG would never make. But again, I believe EG needs to think outside his comfort zone and be risky. Without bold thinking, I doubt we get the crown. If they want Curry, that's how I'd go.
Arenas/Wall
Dom/Young
Caron/Wilson
AJ/Blatche
Haywood/McGee
That's a team you can trade with. Those pieces will get you any player in the league and a championship.

So...trading for a backup SF and a future first is "bold thinking"? If the Knicks add both the #5 and #8 plus make another deal or two, they could sneak into the playoffs and then we just traded a top 5 pick for a bench player and a mid first. That's more like "bad thinking" IMO.
