There is a happily ever after for Ernie Whitt.
Sacked as a coach by his beloved Toronto Blue Jays last summer and under fire after managing Canada's entry to an early exit at this past spring's World Baseball Classic, Whitt will be enshrined in the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame on Saturday at St. Marys.
Hall of Fame status, Whitt knows, lasts forever.
But not much else does.
Last night, his former employer faced his new one when the Blue Jays started a series against the world champion Phillies.
One of the most recognizable faces in Toronto baseball history, the wound from his unceremonious Jays exit stung.
