You guys, are putting the 3peat Lakers in the early 00s better than this team, because of their experience, but that makes this team so special and better, our roster is still pretty young and with this team we had played 2 nba finals in a row already leading the West in the regular season and the team will improve more. Our dominance in the West is bigger than Kobe-Shaq days. I remember when we won our third ring, we were 3rd in the West in the Regular season.

no one is saying this team can't be better but they still have a lot to prove and aren't there yet. a team needs to be exceptional to repeat and the shaq teams got 3 in a row. take a look at the league since and not even a great spurs team (i threw up a little when i typed that) has been able to do it. i'm not doubting that this team can become better but they aren't right now.

No one commanded more attention from the other teams defese/coaching than Shaq and he still was the MDE. I think you are forgeting or are too young to have viewed the Shaq Lakers in their entirety. You are also forgetting about all the grizzled vets the LAL had on those teams.

You can only compare the 3-peat teams after Jackson arrived and assembled his roster. The Lakers before Jackson were not entirely a championship roster.
