CV has to be top priority. If we want any chance at Bosh. CV's stats per 40 are comparable to Bosh's per 40. If Tor wants to trade Bosh they can get a hydrid forward with considerable stats that would likely play better with Bargs especially if they get a real C. Plus his contract would be half of Bosh's. I think that if CV works out, Lebron may not want to do the Bosh trade and look the let Ferry spend the money elsewhere. To me that is a win-win situation.

I think that if we offer CV a contract, the other thing is we make Mil have to natch. And if they do they would be in luxury hell. Would anybody consider Bogut? Because they will likely be offering Redd or Jefferson but Bogut fills a need for us or do we think his contract is too large?

As far as Ben's contract we have to look at the cap strapped teams with players we liked at the wing or C. My top 5 are:

1. Shaquille Oneal
2. Vince Carter/Boone
3. Gerald Wallace/ Nazr Mohammed
4. Caron Butler/ Etan thomas or Mike James or Brandon Haywood
5. Tyson Chandler and James Posey

Shaq is obvious because we dont sacrifice 2010 and he is still a threat.
Vince Carter does more then score with 20/5/5 avgs so Mo still doesnt have to be primary ball handler even when Lebron is on the bench.
Gerald Wallace I think wont mess up chemistry and drives to the basket and doesnt always need the ball in his hands to be effective. So him and Mo can be interchangable as far as 2nd scorer.
Caron Butler is another guy who can play the 2 or 3 effectively with his defense and offense.
Tyson Chandler and Posey fill some of our biggest holes.

The three wings all come with bigs because we would need help in the post since our MLE would be eaten up by CV.

Mil would let CV go and just retain Bogut..

Washington won't part with Butler to get salary relief. They'd part with Jamison, #5, or pretty much anyone else before him.

I think the main thing here is we need to secure Charlie V and/or a center whether that is Shaq, Kaman, Chandler, Boone, etc. We need to get younger and more athletic on the front line. Anyone else, is icing on the cake.

IMO the first thing we need to do is push for CV. Force Mil hand as someone else mentioned. There is no way to know if we can get him until we try.
Is Larry Hughes having fun yet?
