That's a good question, but he is very good friends with Nash and JRich. Plus I assume this is Nash's last year in PHX and Baron would be his replacement in 2010. Or Baron could start at the 2, and have this starting lineup: Nash/Baron/JRich/Amare/Camby.

To bad Baron isn't being traded. I'd rather have Baron here than the circus Shaq and his big mouth would bring.

^ Shaq actually shows up to play every night. Let's see if Baron does the same thing this season, cause he surely didn't last season.

At least Shaq's contract expires next year, unlike Baron's, which expires in 2013.

According to Chad Ford, the Clips and Wolves discussed a Mike Miller for Kaman swap last winter. Too bad that didn't go down...

The Wolves have a glaring hole in the middle, but there just aren't a lot of terrific big men in the draft or free agency. They could try to move up to grab Hasheem Thabeet, draft a guy in the mid-first round like B.J. Mullens, or they could try to do something via trade for someone like the Clippers' Chris Kaman (the teams talked months ago about a Kaman-for-Mike Miller swap, but it appears to be totally dormant at the moment).

In a chat today I saw a Mike Miller and the 18th pick for Kaman proposed. It doesn't sound half bad, as we get an expiring contract and a pick included. I'm really not sure that this is enough though. I really only like trading Kaman for a starting SF. I would do Kaman and the pick the Wolves owe us for Miller and the 6th pick however. After reading many chats is seems like teams value Kaman a lot more than most of us do.

I still prefer to trade Camby though.

Tayshaun Prince for Chris Kaman plus something small would be a pretty smart trade for both teams. It allows Detroit to go after Turkoglu as they seem to want to do.

There could be several good options at SF available via trade if GMs are optimistic about Kaman's health.

I saw this idea on the trade board from a Pistons fan. I like the idea. I would also try to squeeze the #35 out of the Pistons. I think they would still go for it.

Clippers Get: Battier/Cook
Clippers Give: Kaman

I think Battier is exactly what the Clippers need, and he is one of my favorite players in the NBA.

Pistons Get: Kaman
Pistons Give: Rip

Rockets Get: Rip
Rockets Give: Battier/Cook

I'd love to trade Kaman for Battier, but it seems Houston would be a little resistant in giving him up, and rightfully so.

^ Exactly, Battier seems like a player that any team would want to have, where it would be hard to give him up.

What about a trade: Kaman for #3? Or something revolving around that. If Rubio is still there, that is...cause I don't see who else we'd go after (if Harden can play the SF, then that's a possibility too).

DeRozan is a beast.

^ Probably not. There's no deal that'll satisfy Dumbleavy's needs that involves trading the 1st pick, and Griffin is a special talent.

What if you could land a franchise PG and unload both Baron Davis and Zach Randolph?

Rajon Rondo, Ray Allen, Tony Allen
for
#1, Baron Davis, Zach Randolph

You guys would have Kaman, Gordon, Thornton, Jordan under contract for 2010. You could probably move Kaman if you really wanted to and land 2 big time free agents for a large market.

Rajon Rondo is not going to net you the #1 pick.

Also a team build around Eric Gordon and Blake Griffin >>>> a team build around Eric Gordon and Rajon Rondo.

LAC-DAL trade idea

Post#579 » by PG3 » Wed Jun 24, 2009 4:49 am

Mavericks trade:
C. Eric Dampier
SG. Matt Carroll
SF. Josh Howard

Clippers trade
SF Al Thornton
PF. Zach Randolph
C. Chris Kaman

Why for Mavs? They get offensive bigs since Dirk is more of a perimeter player.

Why for Clips? Clippers get better at SF with Josh Howard while unclogging the big man position.

What do u guys think?
