Kids got skills no doubt about it. It's a bit of a risk to trade Rondo for him, but it might be worth it. Especially if Danny wants to save money for next offseason.

2nd pick and Darko

for

Rondo, Scala, Tony

NBA types have waited four years for Rubio to become draft eligible. His size, flair for the game and aggressive defense are said to be more than enough for talent evaluators to overlook Rubio's inconsistent jump shot. The large buyout (reportedly $6 million) Rubio is attempting to settle with his Spanish team no longer appears to be a major concern for league executives. "I've said all along that, once he stayed in the draft, he's going to play in the NBA," Wallace said. "I expect to see Rubio in an NBA uniform next season." Memphis Commercial Appeal

Agent Dan Fegan has dissuaded teams such as Memphis (No. 2) and Oklahoma City (No. 3) from taking Rubio, who wants to play for a big market team.

Yeah, it'd be fun to watch Rajon torch that garbage competition too. He looks good, but no way will he be doing stuff like that in the nba anytime soon.

Seriously. I watched that same video a few years ago. Only his name was Sergio. And everybody wanted to trade their point guards for the opportunity to get him.

I'm not saying Rubio's not talented. Maybe he'll be a HOFer when all is said and done. All I know is that this video proves absolutely nothing other than he can be a flashy dribbler and passer. Hey -- you need talent to do that. Obviously he has a good handle and court vision. Good for him. He's a cinch to make the next And1 tour.

Here's what you don't see: (a) any turnovers from bonehead no-look over-the-shoulder passes; (b) him playing defense other than poking the ball away (often after bumping the dribbler); or (c) him demonstrating the ability to hit a jump shot. He's got some kind of weird leaning set shot that I suppose looks better than Rondo's ugly shot but looks don't mean squat.

We've got an All-Star-caliber PG. Who's young and will get better. 25-30 NBA teams would be dying to have a guy like Rajon running the point for them.

Plus, the question of superior upside is WORTHLESS for us right now. #18 is right there for the taking. You want some Spanish-speaking 18-year old kid trying to lead KG, Paul and Ray in the Eastern Conference Finals? I'll stick with Rondo (you know -- the guy who has a ring and led our team past Chicago this season), thank you.

hmmm.......

I do believe the main rubio arguments are Rondo for the 2, 4, or whatever (some ambitious Rondo for the 4 and Thompson but we wouldn't be so lucky) to obtain rubio with the caveat that Andre Miller, Bibby, or Kidd would sign on as the interim starter. Such a move would be precipitated by Rondo demanding an egregious 10million + per year contract. I have no idea what goes on behind the scenes and what's available, so I can't say how I feel about going after Rubio.

Also Sergio for all his flash was never highly regarded and the highest I ever saw him on draft boards was like 16, Rubio is quite a different story. Also I contend Sergio still has quite a bit of potential and should he find himself on the knicks roster, he will have some insane statistical outings
You gotta make it sexy! Hips and nips, otherwise I'm not eating.
