Again, I still think this move makes sense for phoenix and minnesota:

Boston Outgoing: Ray Allen & Veal
Boston Receives: Foye, Gomes, Miller, Madsen

Minnesota Outgoing: Foye, Gomes, Miller, Madsen, #6
Minnesota Incoming: Amare, Dragic, Tucker, #14

Phoenix Outgoing: Amare, Dragic, Tucker, #14
Phoenix Incoming: Ray Allen, Scalabrine, #6

however, after looking at foye's advanced statistics he's just not a good enough young chip to be worth parting for Ray Allen; he just hasn't progressed as advertised over his first 3 years in the league. Pass.

Foye is a tough call he is the anti Gordon, he does all the things Ben Gordon doesn't do. I think he would make a nasty backcourt with Rondo, his shooting is much better off the ball. He isn't the shooter that Ray is but he is much more talented off the dribble at this point. I think if you slid him to the 2 with a pg like Rondo his scoring and % would improve.

It certainly wouldn't be plugging a 25 ppg guy and only asking him to give you 18 ppg. But it doesn't mean he couldn't give you the 18 ppg. I think Foye is the kind of guy who would be a better player on a better team.

My problem is that if we're moving Ray, and especially killing our financial situation (no more sweepstakes for 2010 w/ Gomes/Miller/Foye on board), we have got to be acquiring someone that will rise to the occasion in the closing minutes. Ray has shown that even if he's been a no show for an entire game or few day stretch, he is still an assassin in the closing minutes. Paul is losing his edge in this respect, and watching him operate out of the elbow is starting to draw all kinds of visceral reactions out of me, and I haven't trusted PP at the FT line in a deciding game since game 6 of the ECF against Jersey, KG showed a surprising killer edge, but the point of disrupting the contender we have now in trading ray is to get that next killer... My initial impression was Foye had that potential, but players show that by the end of their 3rd year, in the regular season this move probably would not hurt us, but the postseason

ANOTHER one of those trades that make NO sense to ONE team...

WHY would they do that? RA is on the DOWN side.

In all fairness...this is one of those posts that happen on ALL boards, made by homers who really haven't got a clue, but as long as it makes "my" team better... well..why NOT?!?!??!!?!?

Yeah that would be like trading Kwame Brown and 2nd round pick for Pau Gasol. Some fans are such homers.

Chris Wallace is in that special set of GMs where a trade crafted by a homer on the other team is possible. Joe Dumars? Don't think so. On the other hand, we did gift him that championship when we facilitated the trade that got him Sheed. It's time to pay up.
