Jonathan Bender was too unlucky in terms of injuries.

And in the Suns system, where players develop confidence because of the "free" offense and system. Its good for rookies, assuming they get playing time.... key word(s).. Playing time.

I got it psyclone1982. My wife is all over that show.

I think the difference between Bender and Clark is that Clark has played college ball and his game has grown. Injuries for now have not been a problem thus far for clark.

You might see a line up like this if he is good enought.

Nnash
Jrich
Hill
Clark
Amare

Im scared of Lopez ever being a starting center in this league. I just dont see it anymore in this kid. I hope I am wrong.

bench
Tragic
Barbs
Studley
Lue
Lopez

Not bad if we trade shaq for cap releif.

lopez was a major dissapointment for most of the year, however his aggression after shaq blasted him showed some promise

he he can develop into a solid backup C thatll be better than i thought at the start of last season

Im interested on the expectations on Lopez..

To be honest, I expected 4-5 minutes, 2 points, 2 rebounds.

He is No.15 pick.... a big man too.
Its not like he was top 5 pick...

Sure, McGee, Hibbert etc produced better stats, but they were also on teams where playoff contention was out of the question. McGee got several games where he played 18~24 minutes a night, consecutive nights too. Hibbert same situation.

Lopez as coming in for O'Nea, Stoudemire... not to mention Porter didnt want to use him at all, Gentry used him towards the end.. and has shown fire towards the end.

Kerr drafted him because the Suns needed size, length and energy, with the hope of development in offensive skills over time.... i think he isnt that far off the mark. Lopez isnt ready... not yet, but that because the Suns are a veteran team where every game is important enough for the veterans to play heavy minutes... I think he is a 9 point 8 rebound 2 blocks a game type of player given 26-30 minutes a game.

Or Suns can do a Celtics/Rivers and play Lopez along with hall of famers in O'Neal, Nash etc 30+ minutes... just like with Rondo (Pierce, Alen, Garnett), which helped Rondo's development tremendously...

It's hard to play Rolo with our vets. Rotations aren't right if we do. Rolo/Shaq front court? Too clogged. Rolo/Amare front court? OK for small stretches but their defense really hurts us. Would be nice if Rolo picked up a decent 10-12 ft jump shot.

btw has there been interest from our FO in T.Will? Say if he dropped to #14 and Clark was there as well, would they take T.Will over Clark? I don't remember hearing anything from our FO about what they thought about T.Will.

Makes sense that Kerr would target Clark, when I was looking at the nbadraft.net profile of him and also the youtube clip he seemed like a poor man's version of Amare.
