Wallace for Jefferson would have been really nice.

I don't think RJ would fit with the Cavs. Don't the Cavaliers have some guy named LeBron to pay sf?

Would prefer VC over RJ, and I don't even really want VC...

Funny that the Wiz move the #5 pick for almost nothing while Danny Ferry sits on his hands. This guy needs to go. Some teams will willingly give up some good talent and yet all we hear is Shaquille O'Neal. Perhaps this is another summer where I am told Danny Ferry has a plan and then he doesn't actually improve the team substantively.

Randy Foye and Mike Miller is a lot more than "nothing".
Not to mention, selling the farm for a pick that's not Blake Griffin would be idiotic.

Minnesota actually sent Mike Miller and Randy Foye for the #5 - those guys aren't world beaters, but I doubt we made an offer even that good.

Uh, anybody good would fit with the Cavs. RJ would be the 2nd best player on the team. You find a way to make it work. It's a hell of a lot better than sitting around waiting for something better and then going into next season with the same roster.
Start LeBron at the 4. Or if you can land a decent 4 in free agency you can start RJ at the 2 and bring West off the bench where he should be.

I'd take RJ over Vince. And of course the bigs are our weakness. I've been saying for two seasons that we don't have a legit starter at 4 or 5. However, that need could still be filled in other ways. We'd still have Pavs to trade and the MLE.
I'm of the opinion that if you can get all-star caliber talent for peanuts you go get it.

Of course we didn't. Who could we possibly offer better? We'd have to offer Mo & Delonte to be comparable and even then it might not be as good because Miller & Foye both expire this year if Washington wants to make cap space.

Rj would have made this team better peroid. And yes we need bigs, but like vct said, if yo can get an allstar for Ben you do it. And Pula, I think Ferry did make a substantial improvement for this team LAST offseason.Rome wasnt built ina day, and while I know the clock is ticking for Lebron, Ferry has proven to be deliberate in making moves. Other than his first offseason in which his hand was kind of forced, he has done a good job if you ask me.

You make a pretty good argument. Beggars can't always be choosers.
Ferry might have to settle for a less than optimal deal or risk losing out once teams start moving pieces

Dude are you Romanian...your name is Pula

Ferry sucks...look at 05 when he had so much money to spend and somehow picked the worst players ever to sign, Donyell, Larry and I forgot who else...Wesley?? Pathetic...

VC is a superior play maker, just as good of a shooter and is much better at creating offense for himself..

Re: Too bad the Cavs didn't land R Jefferson.
There's no reason to trash Ferry -- RJ could have helped the Cavs, but I'm confident the Cavs will land someone better and/or less over-priced. RJ is a good player, but he's hardly all-star caliber.
Nor is he anywhere near as good as Vince Carter, even though Carter is older. I'm surprised that anyone, even at this point in their careers, would suggest that they are close in terms of value. I've never been a huge Carter fan, but he could be a great addition to the Cavs.
It's easy to slam Ferry in retrospect for Hughes, Donyell, etc -- but they were all deemed good pick-ups at the time. In any case, since then he's done quite well to land players like Mo, Delonte, and JJ.
Why isn't there any talk about JJ getting better -- he has the tools, he just needs experience and some maturity. Are we really assuming he's peaked, or only has value in a trade?
Wallace and Pavs contracts are big assets. I'd like to keep Andy, but he also has some value in a sign-and-trade scenario. I think we need to be patient and see what we can get. We're still in a strong position to deal and the deadline is a long way off.

Re: Too bad the Cavs didn't land R Jefferson.
Please tell me where all of the good Danny Ferry moves are. We didn't exactly get Mo Williams for nothing and I have not seen his signings or trades work out. Other GMs are out there improving their roster. Once again, the Cavs will stand pat with what they have. Where has this team improved since Ferry has taken over? He only has one of the best (if not the best) player in basketball and this is all he can place around him--it just doesn't make sense. Ferry will have to be a miracle worker now to make this a championship team again. There are so many holes on this roster.
Also, very cute calling my name Romanian. I'm pretty sure you have no idea what a Romanian name sounds like. That will have to go in the lame middle school insult category.

We got Mo for Damon Jones.
The Delonte West trade was awesome.
Shaq will likely be a Cav within the next 24 hours.
